IMPORTANT UPDATE

After a phone call to BigCol we've decided to make one small alteration to the run..... and let go of some of the secrets we have install for those attending

As its been stated in previous posts, we have added a few extra 'twists' to this years GOR run, one of which I've kept very quite....the location of a group photo shoot

The reason being that the location I'd chosen doesnt normaly do the sort of thing I have planned. As of 11.00pm this morning we have permission to access this area for a short period of time.


Ok so now ya wondering what I've done.......

Even some airel shots will be taken of the group


Not only do we get the site for a pic fest, but we also get.......

CHEAP FLIGHTS
See the 12 Apostles, LochArd Gorge, Senital Rock, London Bridge, and much more from a chopper ride that normally costs $115 per person........ for ......

$80 per person :thumbup:

 

So with Kingy's update, there are some minor changes that are required. We need to be at the helipad around 1pm. Kingy has been able to negotiage a window for us from 1pm to 1:30.

This means that to be able to make this we need to make some changes to the schedule:

* 9:00 Depart westgate
* 10:15 arrrive at Point Danger (Torquay). We will be having as short a stop here as possible and then get moving again so those meeting us there also neec to make sure they are on-time.
* 10:30 Leave for Port Campbell. We will not be having lunch at Apollo Bay, but will keep going through to the photshoot site.
* 1:00 Arrive at Port Campbell for photo shoot
* 1:30 We then go to Port Campbell for food.
* 2:30 And finally Badzx's magical mystery tour return trip to Geelong through the back roads :thumbup:

So, bring some snacks to make sure you can last through to 1:30ish for lunch. And bring some cash if you want to go on an awesome (and cheap) heli-flight over some of the worlds best scenery!

 

Might just have to reconsider my "Sorry, can't make it" position.
Helicopter ride.... another thing to cross off my things-to-do-before-I-die list!
I'll go straight to Point Danger from work, and meet up there (don't wait if I'm not there, though, I'll catch up somewhere along the way).

Reason being that some people may wish to have some extra cash on hand or get a snack organised to help carry them past the lunch break.....

The owners are organising it so all the choppers will be lined up in an area set aside for the pics, access for all ZX's is easy even the ulta low low ZX's wont have any dramas

I've taken these flights several times in the past & I can honestly say they are worth every cent.... so if you've never been near a chopper let alone fly in one, here is a one hell of an oppertunity that you shouldnt miss. Just think, this time tommorow some of us will be airborne and looking down at a fine collection of ZX's





Now the problem.......
We need to get in as early as posiable to the heli pad so we dont interfer with the business side of this opperation, remember they are going way out for us in every aspect so we as a group need to do as much as posiable to help them help us.

After a chat with BigCol we've decided to 'skip' the lunch break at Apollobay and cruise on to the heli pad for the photo shoot, afterwards we will be going 10mins down the road to a seaside town where a lunch / snack can be bought.
Ample parking is available and we can easily put 40 cars in the area and its a short walk to shops for a feed , walk on the beach, or just to have a chat with our fellow ZX owners.

More supprise's await you......

Like I posted before...... they are going out of their way to help us.... in more ways than you know about ....... yet !

Not feelin' flash atm

I got my permit but caught a cold somewhere and feelin' real crap at the moment. I will see how I go tomorrow morning, but it isn't looking good. This sucks, was looking forward to it. Have a good trip though and post lots of pix!

 

mate how annoying ey? i caught a cold on thursday night... getting a lot better this arvo though so should be back to 100% by tomorrow.

Still coming Col but will probably break off at Appolo Bay and head home. Our car is just not built for comfort and if we spent a full day hammering over back roads Jen and I would both require spinal surgery.

 

According to Badzx a lot of the "back" roads are newly sealed so hopefully they will be quite good. But no probs - I understand completely. Or you could always bring the new car (or the stang!)

 

We'll see how it goes.

Haven't got my car going, Rear suspension needs work, so looking for a ride.

You'll be fine........

My purple ZX is as hard as a rock in the suspension and the seats are also hard....

Its good roads all the way except for just under 1Kilometer we go through.... and its 60kph anyway.... I'll be slowing everyone down for that kilometer not because of the rough road but for those that have low front clips.



And in closing......

My white ZX will be joing us on-route with my mate Mark at the wheel.......

This shouldn't be an issue should it. I would think that there would be a couple of cars with space in them.

... I am catching a cab from sanctuary lakes to the westgate, So I dam hope some1 will let me ride with them.

$60.00 cab fare. ( Hope its worth it )
