Yeah - Wykked gave it a spiel during the meeting, so time will tell whether it worked.

I wish I had the cash for braided lbrake lines, I was too slow for the cheap ones that came up for sale here recently.

How much are the Greenstuffs costing? I have had them recommended to me a few times too. I think most of the things I do will be preventative maintenance rather than improvements. Wouldn't mind sway bars/strut braces or somesuch though. Depends on cash.

    Contact Details for DECA...

You can email me on jencees01@optusnet.com.au if you want to know more about DECA day or require deposit details for your $40 to hold you pozzie.
As it stands we still DO NOT have enough numbers to make this go ahead, we still need another 18 people or so.
It would be NICE to see all 300's attend :zlove: but we are now taking deposits for anyone (Craig has entered his skyline and so has Ben).
Still need people to put up their hands to volunteer too......

    Hey,

Any progress with this or is it falling over? Any one from NDSOC joining the event?

    Cheers!

I am curious as to how numbers are looking too.

I am really keen to do this and if we do fall short of the 40 people I have no problem with paying a bit extra, even with 20 people $170 is not really excessive for a great day like this, especially as we would all get much more driving time.

Still, it really should not be that hard to get lots of people into a day like this.

Also has it been confirmed what kind of license you need and what level? CAMS LS1, LS2.....or AASA? Can a one day license be purchased at the event?

    Cheers!

No its an Aus300zx.com forum event, but we are opening it to NDSOC members as we are having a low number of people actually showing interest in this great event!

Not sure if they do the 1 day licences anymore... I asked about it before I went up to SAU DECA in Feb and they said that they don't do the day licences... but that may just have been an SAU thing.
Not sure which licence will be required, Pete or Jen will confirm that.

Also, if anyone is still thinking of entering, it's not too late. It has been opened up to the NDSOC though, so if we reach our limit of competitors then you might miss out... only way to secure a spot is to pm Jen (blondie) and make your deposit.

    Some answers.

At present we have only limited numbers but since I am determined to get this day happening we are going to open it up to a wider community, the NDSOC was the start. It will be run under AASA regs but holders of both an AASA and CAMS licence can compete. Due to the large volume of work that will be done on the day we are not in a position to offer one day licences (as Jen pointed out earlier) and would appreciate it if members would organise their own licence ahead of time. You now have just over a month to do it.

Please keep in mind that if you are going to get your mates to enter this event that since it is our first event we will be erring on the side of caution when it comes to rules and regulations. We will be scrutineering cars, and while the fact that this is not a speed event means the regs are slightly relaxed if you are unsure of anything please ask before you get to DECA.

What sort of things will be looked at in the scrutineering?

For scrutineering we will be checking that all loose items are removed from the car (including boot/hatch areas) and that the car is in a safe condition to compete. Particularly we will be looking at things like condition of tyres and steering components, seats and seatbelts and that competitors have a helmet that is safe to use on the back track.

    Hey All,

For anyone who still needs to get a CAMS or AASA license for this event, I suggest you get onto it ASAP. Heres some info on how to go about it.

For CAMS you need to be an official/paid club member of a CAMS affiliated club like SAU (Skylines Australia, membership is $70 and one of the cheapest CAMS affiliated clubs around). Then you will need to apply for your CAMS license, Im not sure whether you need an LS1 ($48) or LS2 ($88) license for this event, can someone please confirm. You can pay for a year license or a one day for about $20 which can be deducted from a year license if you apply for one after. Only thing, I've been advised that it takes between 4-6 weeks for CAMS to process your license, I don't know if this is just for the yearlies or the one day license as well (am in the process of finding out). If you fill out the license form in person then they can give you the stub of the license paper as a temporary 30 day license.

    CAMS Website: http://www.cams.com.au
    SAU Representative: motorsport@sauvic.com.au

For AASA you need to either do a driving course with John Bowe Institute, or have an event organiser provide evidence of competing in 3 sprint or lap dash events in the last 12 months along with a flag signal questionnaire. License costs $50, lasts a year and I think you still need to be a member of an unaffiliated car club.

    AASA Website: http://www.australianautosportalliance.com/aasa/

    Cheers!

    Craig

PS. The CAMS one day license will still have to be organized through CAMS as WYKKED said that they wont be providing them on the day at the event.

Which CAMS affiliated club are you guys with?

Hey Wykked, just checked the first page again....so the 1 year AASA licenses as stated in Sandeeps post are definately not going to be sold now?? If this is the case, maybe get sandeep or a moderator to edit his post.

And I forgot to ask, is aus300zx a CAMS affiliated club? If so, how much is membership?

    Cheers!

Just realised a mistake in my post about CAMS licenses....the L2NS is $48 and the LS2 is $88.

Still need confirmation which one we need.

    Cheers!

Hi Craig. Because we are running the day as a "non-speed" event and L2ns licence will be acceptable. Jen will make some calls today about selling licences on the day, but if that is possible we will need someone to take on the job of doing it, and it will have to be done before the car is presented at scrutineering. Jen and I will both be far too busy in the morning to take on additional roles. That was why we had originally told people to sort out their own licences ahead of time. I hadn't realised that Sandeep had said we would do licences on the day.

All we can do is wait for what Jen finds out.

I bought my AASA licence at a deca event, i just filled in the forms (club racing licence) and brought them along with the $50. Someone from SAU then collected the form and my money and they send it all down to the AASA after the event. A few months later I got my licence in the mail. (i bought it in feb, recieved my actual licence in june... SAU were abit slow to get the money off to AASA).
Pete, if you want i can look after this on the day if we are allowed to sell them.
Reason I thought we were able to sell on the day was because the lady at the AASA who I spoke to said that this was the way the SAU events were run, but then again they have alot more staff to help out with this kind of stuff i guess.

    In regards to Licensing

I just spoke to the AASA and they now do not issue day licenses, not sure why, but this is what I was told.
Sandeep is correct in saying that they are $50, this is for a years membership and you can download the form from their website. Copy and paste link below

    http://www.australianautosportallia...ion=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=29&Itemid=45

Cams do issue a day license, but this can only be issued from a member from the NDSOC as they have to apply for the forms.
I am in the process of finding out more details on this and should know more by tomorrow. Cams are calling me back today and I am attending the meeting at the Aero club tonight for the NDSOC and I will ask about how we get these forms and what is required.

Hope this helps and will update tomorrow.
