If you have lost OBD plug during engine swap, there is no problem to wire it in to the car existing harness, just contact me for this matter. Confirmation I can confirm these units work well on Vista (x86), Windows 7 (x86 and x64), and Windows XP Professional SP 3 (x86). The cable looks a little dodgy due to the heatshrink, but it is nice and long - easily long enough to sit the laptop under your bonnet whilst connected (for adjusting your idle for example) or sitting on your passenger seat and not having to stretch the cable. The drivers download automatically from the Internet for Vista and Windows 7. You have to either download the Windows driver from the manufacturers website, OR use the driver off the CD. If you are after a USB "Consult" cable, these are good and well priced.

Just to give you a heads up that cable is OBD2 in the picture... You need the 14 pin connector for our car's... Changed to OB2 midway thru 1996 i think it was...

Ok, so not as much interest as I would have thought. I'm not going to tear this down, let's see how much more interest it gets first.
On XP it needed the USB drivers from the CD. On Vista and Windows 7, the drivers were automatically downloaded from the Windows Update site. Works a treat. I used my laptop (with Windows 7) and this cable to adjust Jamies and Kabirs idle without issue. (On Kabirs I had to try different software, but that was Consult Free playing up, not the hardware).
