Hey Every one Stephen here ,I have been on the forum since 2009 and I think its about time I posted my build thread from when I got the car to now and as I go. When I was looking for a zed on car sales I came a cross a zed that was what I wanted a 2+2 na manual and red with low ks on it. But it was in Victoria so being in qld I was not able to see it in person. So my dad got one of his torana club mates to go have a look for me. The guy that had a look at it for me said its in very good nick and said if I don't buy it he will, So that made it clear this was the car for me.

Paid for the car to get transported to my home. And here she is.

So the First thing I did was fix the trim that was flaking off.

Did not want any over spray on her .:D

Got a 2.5 inch catback exhaust put in with twin 3 inch tips.

Got a set of 2k rear tail lights from coz. Then got a set of Starcorp racing wheels form a forum member named Fate. Wheels are 19x8.5 and 19.9.5. now with 275 on the rear :)

About a year after owning the car the clutch was slipping so was time for a new one, got my self a f1 racing clutch stage 2. and I also made my own ramps for my zed to do the change :p

Then it was time for some subs. I did not want to put any off the shelf type of sub box in the back, So I made my own up and I think they turned out very good.

Then it was time to do the water bypass. so I thought I would give polishing a plenum a go. Took about a week sanding and polishing.

And I also got some new plates

So that's how she stayed till late last year. After driving Ztoys car I knew I needed to have a tt zed. So I was looking and looking for a half cut to do the swap when I saw a zed here on the forum that was being parted out. Went and had a look at it. It was coverd in dust and had a bit of body damage, that did not bother me as all I wanted was the engine. Went to start it and she was no go. Every thing was working but just would not start. so I took a bit of a gamble and bought it. And was cheap. Got a hire trailer a week later and picked it up to take to my aunty's place to store it as I did not have any room at my place at the time.

So the next weekend I went up to see if I could get it to start. after trying and trying to get it working with no hope. I all most about to start pulling the Plunum of to have a look at the ingectors. my aunty's boyfriend who is a trucky had a lissen to it trying to start and straight away he knew why is would not start. We took the hose of the fuel filter and turnd the pump on only to see brown fuel so we knew the fuel was bad and draind the tank and put fresh fuel in and turned the key and straight away she fired up:)

So she stayed there for about 4 weeks till I had room at home. in that time I was pulling parts of to sell.

When it was home ztoy and me one weekend pulled the tt out.

And I think Ztoy (Al) likes tt's to much.

Then is was time to get some parts from coz.

So this is how the tt looked before she went in :)

Then is was time to do the swap I would like to say a big thank you to ztoy magic mike, Bonezx, Carlos95. could have not done it with out you guys.

Here is a vid of the Na coming out.

Red zeds look amazing with 2k spec tails. Freshens the whole rear end right up.

    Clean zed.

Every time I've seen this in real life, I've been impressed with the paint. I don't think it needs a spray just yet :p

Nice job man. When did you have a tech day?

Hi Stephen, great work so far. Needs a set of adjustable coilovers to set it off visually. I noticed in one of the pics that your rear bumper is out of shape on the bottom edge (RHS). That can easily be improved by warming the area with heat gun and re-shaping.

It was a pleasure to help with the conversion on your car. Your zed is one of the straightest and cleanest I have seen and It deserved a TT conversion. I look forward to seeing what you have planned for it over the next year. :zlove:

Hey all well I finally got off my ass and did some work on my zed.

I bought some 100cel cats and cut and welded them on my zed yesterday.

since i have done the tt swap i have noticed a exhaust leak and straight away I thought it was a exhaust manifold leak. So when I pulled the test pipes off the zed. I found out that on the back of the passenger turbo there were 2 nuts missing off the dump pipe, so that's where the leak was coming from, lucky it was a easy fix. any way here are some pictures I took with my phone.

Did you get to the bottom of the cold start issues?

Hey every one. Been off the forum for quite a bit lately and I should post some pictures of what has happened to my zed since my last update.

so the next thing that I did was buy a body kit for my zed. I was going to just spray the kit and put it on but looking over my zed the paint was not the best so I bit the bullet and did a full respray. Went to the shop to look at all the colours , but none of the ones I sore did not agree with me so I decided that I would make my own colour up and I called it Z-Red :zlove:.

So over a few weekend myself and Al (ztoy) worked on my body kit, sanding after sanding to get it perfect. Then one weekend I cleaned my work shop out so I could paint it at work.

As soon as I saw the (Z-Red) on my zed I was in love :zlove::zlove:. Could not be happier with the way it turned out, A big thanks again to AL (Ztoy) for spending his time sanding and painting my zed, your a legend mate :D.

Then come time to start reassembling the zed to make it look like a zed.

Once she was finished body wise, it came time for a little more power. So I bought 2871s turbos off magic mike. And new injectors and all the other stuff to go with it. And we made it all happen 1 week before zed fest.

Long story short I have not been driving my zed since zed fest as some of you guys know that I have a cold starting problem, sorry guys that were at zed fest that I woke up nice and early with me trying to get her to start.
So since then I have bought my self a new car. Its a 07 ssv ve commodore and I have put the biggest cam you can fit before you have to do the heads. So she makes a nice 363hp at the rear wheels and sounds lumpy and mean :p.

I am planning on figuring out this cold start issues and then rebuilding the engine then finally get her back on the road. I Miss driving my ZED:(.

Anyway here are a few pictures off what I have done..

    Cheers Stephen:thumbup:
