Dub, you're going to have the best Z32 engine bay in Australia. And that makes me very sad Thanks Marcus! By the time it's all finished I hope you'll see what I've been going for. I've got a thing about covers on a wire tucked motor... it's cheating, haha. The plan was to accentuate what's still left behind in the bay. Removing the cam gear backing plate at the same time as the powder coating will help a lot too.
More inspiration (for me). The latest on Mike D's car, on first page with an original plenum and unpainted red bay. He's gone two tone with the bay, white with teal pearl. Something I would never do but a big movement in the US. Motor is as fresh as the paint and is going to be putting out approximately 600 American horsepower. The colour scheme in the bay is late 80's inspired to suit the age of the Z32. I personally really like it, but could never paint my bay a different colour to the car. He's done a few things differently to most of the tucked Z32's going around at the moment - non colour coded bay, polished components and interestingly combination silicon and hard intake pipes. If you're interested you can check out the full story in his build thread.
dislike.... so much effort has gone in to kill it on an unthemed engine bay... off colour plenum... 2 different blues... :/ na could be so much better if he kept the theme
Reminds me of sticker bombing The whole idea of throwing the smooth sleek single-color look in favor of something bright and exciting. I like it.
I want the exterior of my car to match this some day. But I won't copy it completely. Different front bar and shiz. His car is pure sex. Dem rims...
I could of done it quicker if I didn't work out of town all the time for work. There's no two different blues, there's teal, pink, and purple. And thanks Anti , still have a few more things too add to it. Custom colored Kevlar timing covers, my catch can and few other tidbits too finish it off. As for now she's not running 100% straight.
White and silver? No, not much else on those two. They're both obviously LHD so I'm not sure how much would be applicable.
I'm liking all of what in seeing. We have a two tone theme. But it's a black bay and a blue body. When the engine gets ripped Ill be smoothing and prob still go with a gloss black. Whites awesome but a prick to keep clean where I live.
