So I was asked by someone to develop some tubular manifolds for a custom T3 turbo setup these are big probably of similar size to the GT35R turbos,
    Here's how there coming on

Just got to make up the screamer pipes and down pipes then they'll beach done and ready for testing

They look good! Tell me you're going to get rid of those horrible china gates?

    wow. GT35R in a Vg30 engine bay. Damn that's a tight fit.
How's the heat from the pipes going to effect the brake fluid being that close ?

lol, first thing I picked up as well. No doubt this will have to be relocated.

    PS: Nice work :zlove:

  5. Anti

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

****ing awesome. Time for some EFRs :D

The bmc isn't bolted in in that pic and isn't quite as close when all bolted up there will also be a heat shield in between the two

The China gates are not my choice and are only being used as a temp solution as it has to be running ready for this weekend

Any further progression with this? Relevant to my interests/dreams!

This is on a RHD car given the master cylinder location correct?

How many $$ are we looking at for the manifolds.

I'm sure google would love to tell me, but I'll post a comment anyway...

Why go to all the effort of what looks to be equal length runners on an exhaust manifold for a turbo? and don't tell me sciency stuff about pulses, etc that really only add value to N/A cars to increase your gas velocity. The back pressure from the turbo would just negate any benefits anyhow.

So is there actually any benefit other than sex factor on this manifold vs a log manifold for a turbo?

I think its more of getting the GT35R's in a location where it fits .

A log style manifold with T3 flange might not work due to where the flange needs to sit?

Yeah wasn't meaning to criticize, was just curious. You see a number of fancy spaghetti manifolds for turbo's that just don't seem to make sense to me, I was hoping someone would tell me I was wrong so I could argue.

That's a monster turbo for 1.5L...with manifolds that big surely lag will be huuuge.

  12. Anti

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Don't tell Koenigsegg they're really heavily invested in the lie

  13. Anti

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Okay I should validate that -

They're for variable geometry split pulse turbos that keep each cylinders exhaust pulse separate all the way to the exhaust wheel.

Pulses are still important in turbo applications, that's why twin scrolls exist. Not sure how much you can fix a janky three cylinder set up though.

Not arguing any of that, unless your doing it with a traditional designed turbo.

  16. Anti

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Well in that case sure. But by the time you go this far you'd do modern turbos, nothing modern bolts up to VG manifolds. Isn't that the premise here?

Theoretically the premise...I did read that you can get the GT35R in a twin scroll variety...so I guess my discussion could be moot.

Who in the zed community has gone down the route of twin scroll or variable vane turbo's, out of curiosity.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

    I'm about to

I was actually thinking about this yesterday.

Whats to stop someone using say, a pair of upgraded Patrol ZD30 VNT turbos on a VG30 for epic low end response and solid top end? Haven't found any specs on the turbos themselves but seeing as they run a single unit on a 3l diesel surely two on a 3l petrol would yield interesting results.

What turbos are you planning to use Anti?

Cool be interested to see the results. Twin scroll or variable vane?
