Well the story starts before i even bought the 300, about a year and a half ago, the guy i bought it off took a spoiler off the back, to reveal a dented, scratch and damage hatch so he decides to swap it with another black hatch he had and while doing the swap he has removed the struts from the hatch, lifted it to gain access to the bolts holding it on and on doing so he lifted it too high and the bloody washer nozzle put a large crease in the roof. If that wasn't enough it was replaced with another hatch which had rust in it, all this i find out once i fly down to Melbourne to see it. Anyway after haggling the price down, and got him to hand over the original hatch too i set off for the 12 hour drive home.

i get the original hatch home a month later, i get to repairing the original hatch to go back on when the time is right. i removed all the dents and plugged up the spoiler holes as well as the wiper hole, as little filler as possible a bit of guide coat sanded back again then undercoat then with the two pac base coat and clear, replaced the glass and let it sit for 6 months.

Now a year and a half after buying it the dent still in the roof and the rust in the hatch has gotten so bad it allows water into the boot, it became to much, so i took the 300 off the road, ripped out the entire boot trims and interior roof trims, off with the rusty old hatch.

Then to fix the crease in the roof, unfortunately cant get to it from the inside or from under it i had to go out and borrow a mates nailer and puller, what it does is is spot welds a little nail to the body and you pull the body back into shape. Once back to shape sanded and painted. On goes the new hatch and the trims go back together.

also whilst off the road i replaced all the moulds(The targa moulds are a PITA.), window trims, the targa hook and relocated a S2 PTU.

All in all very happy with the result.
