As some will be aware, my cooling issues resulting in thermostat, radiator and hose blowing due to the new radiator and increased pressure in the cooling system should now be over **crosses fingers**. The plenum was removed for the coolant hose bypass on April 9th and sent down for a polish (new business down the Gold Coast). I've peen painting like a madman too. Here are some pics of the fun we have been having. Car's all ready to go back together mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm plenum polish
Did someone say Yellow? Mate that looks great.. hope your troubles are over. (we need a fingers crossed smiley)
Looks great mate... ...I cant wait to see what it looks like all put back together! In my opinion details like that make a good car great!
Re: did you use etch primer and solvent resistant paint? Hi Chewy, If the paint lives up to its promises, it is self priming. Also mentions the following. High Gloss resistant to crack, lift or peel resistant to heat (400 deg F) resistant to salt resistant to strong solvents resistant to fuels, oils and corrosion It is proper engine enamel, not just gloss paint from the hardware store But you are the "King or Bling". I will be happy if my engine bay will look only 50% as good as urs will :zlove:
Zuperb job Greg ... Watch out for your little daughter throwing doll's heads down the exposed intakes Seriously, a really nice colour scheme (But what about the ugly timing belt sticker on the timing cover?)
Re: Zuperb job Greg ... Watch out for your little daughter throwing he he, Its all good . Of course i only pulled back the rag long enough to take the photo:LOL:. Although she is quick as lightning and a good shot too (little terror)
Great job Greg ... Looks really good, make sure we some final assembly pics. Was the paint one of the VHT products, or something else? Next job - the motor's gotta be pulled to paint the engine bay .
isnt painting fun??? wow, now someone else has yellow bits in their engine bay.. although mine are more gold.... well done dude, looks great..
Don't think I'd put my money on the paint staying put where you push the fuel hoses on. I'd recommend you mask off a line past where the clamp will be and sand the pipe back to metal. On a slight tangent - have recently been talking to hose suppliers and there is not one out there that will put a guarantee on their hose when using unleaded fuel. Thought I had asked for something simple - a 1.5"ID fuel filler hose that doesn't weep vapour through the hose. So far have not yet found a hose thats up to the task. Goodyear are working on the problem and are still maybe 18 months away according to their rep.
Re: Looking good Greg! Mmmmm bling You go with yr BLING I'll go with Zing!!!! Young fella's  ALL bling, no ZING Catch me if ya can ....:LOL::LOL:

i got me car back... but the new viscous fan coupling is errr... not viscous.. seems locked on all the time! my car sounds like a bloody 4WD! (even when stone cold) my cats are knackered.....
Re: i got me car back... Knock the guts out then and make them super hi-flow cats . On a brighter note for me, I pressure tested my cooling system today upto 19 PSI, and it held 100% of pressure for 20 minutes. Also tested the cap which is fine. Also I pumped air into the air bleed at the top of the drivers side tank to make sure the pressure was releasing to the overflow bottle at the cap rated pressure, which is also working fine. Hope that is the end of it for a while, now just gotta put it back together.
