Since everyone else is probably still drinking, I will start... Was an early start for me. Fitting undertrays and indicators, then driving an hour in the opposite direction to drop some heads off at a depot for shipping. Only when I got out of the car I realised I had forgotten to put my front plate back on! Risked it anyway and made it to Gav and Maree's at about 9:15, as the first zed was starting to go on the hoist for its auto box swap. I think we must have had 30 or so people throughout the day, with a nice mix of old and new members. A very productive day overall and special mention to Jamie who must have worked on nearly all the zeds there at some stage Thanks to Gav for all the hard work getting the place ready, a great setup with 2 hoists going side by side Plenty of pics were taken which I am sure will be posted here sooner or later. All in all a top day with good people and a well organised event which has been long overdue :zlove: Stay tuned for the next one!
Haha thanks Mike, I did my best! Only bad thing is that I ran out of things to do half way through the day. Was an awesome day, really enjoyed myself. Can't wait to do it again

Thanks for great tech day.... Let's support and help fund more great days and use of great equipment.....This is what makes a Club great......thanks for a great day......
Thankyou Everyone Big thanks to everyone who helped me today, especially Ryan (Tinjek) and Jarred who not only supplied the new gearbox for me, but also towed me to the techday and put in 9-10 hours of hard work . If you guys need anything, just let me know, i'm only 10 minutes or so away . Also Kenny (kingKenny21) you the man, seriously man you helped out so much, I appreciate it . Also thanks to Jamie who helped pull the car apart, I appreciate it man. Hopefully you will get another zed soon :zlove: Thanks Kristen (Mr G) for the helping hand too, your always there to lend a hand, your a top bloke , looking forward to seeing you at future Z events/cruises Also thanks to Kym, Richard, Edgar, Liam and all the other owners in the Z community who convinced me not to sell my car, and keep it. :br: I learnt alot from everyone, especially the older Z like scottyoz1962 owners they had alot of helpful tips and experiences on how to get the job done. The car finally runs like new, and I owe D'arcy (The Deacon) a beer for that drive all the way to get the rear main seal and installation. and finally thanks to Gavan (oohogwash) for hosting such a great event, your hoists and equipment definitely made the job a million times easier than using jack stands in my front yard. Thanks to everyone who helped and I talked to, I met so many new people it was hard to keep track of names/forum names, I appreciate it guys It was thanks to you all I can make it to my paramedic placement next week instead of riding my bike there at weird and unsafe hours of the night :zlove: Looking forward to future events soon
Fantastic Day! I couldn't get there until later in the afternoon, but there was still a bit to do with Jamaine's car (sump on, sump off... sump on, sump off!), managed to get a few phone pics on the day. Thanks Gavan for providing a wonderful site and BoneZx for the BBQ. Was great to catch up with fellow Z enthusiasts all in one spot, hope we can do it again soon! :zlove: Was really satisfying seeing a mate who was frustrated to the point of potentially selling his Z - being able to bring it in, have a dedicated group work on it all day and getting to drive it home with a smile on his face! Lots of other jobs achieved on the day too, but this was definitely the highlight. Some carpark shots on the hill: Epic Fail T-shirt in the perfect spot next to the petrol-enhanced fire.... The experts back at work getting Jamaine's car running: Steve (scottyoz1962) shedding a tear after another convertible 'zinger' from Michael (OZX_320) After moving a safe distance away from the fire near the gas bottle, discussions continued by the glow of the HIDs:
Wow! Looks like a great days, been too long since a proper qld tech day and sorry I couldn't make it. Stupid working fifo!!
Thanks Gav for organising the day, turned up with car on trailer not being able to put it in gear while the engine was running, Al and I decided to rip the gearbox off and check the clutch why not sounds like fun. Not a bad effort off and back on in around 2 hrs. Needed to be done clutch had fused to the pressure plate from 2yrs of sitting dormant. Thanks to all who helped on my car much appreciated
Was great to meet the new faces and catch up with the die hards! Concur with Chrispy, has been way too long and so much fun to be had at these events but what raised this one to a new level was the venue and the amazing equipment available thanks to LadyZ and oohogwash. As a HAPP hoist owner myself I can't speak highly enough of the commitment this company has to supporting automotive enthusiasts and repair industry. Some strong discussion about organising a cruise in the middle of December so watch this space! Z events are coming back to Queensland!!! :zlove:
Yep, a top day courtesy of Gav and Maree .... A great turnout, hopefully the SEQ Zed phoenix rising from the ashes......
Thanks everyone who came along, and for those who helped Gavan to make it such a success. I know Gavan was absolutely stoked with the turnout. We have been pretty slack with our commitment to the club over the last few years, as life (and work) often gets in the way, but we will have another tech day before Easter (to get ready for Warwick) and I am about to post re the Christmas party in a new Upcoming Event if you would like to come along - we met some great new people yesterday, and already have a great bunch of friends from previous gatherings, so let's keep it going strong in Queensland
Maree , Maree , Maree i think i can honestly say that myself and every other Zed Owner/Member would never ever think that you and Gav " have been slack ". It is you guys that have been the wonderful, gracious hosts of many a Tech day or Christmas party, it is you guys that have opened your home up too many a person, from people whom you have just met too older members and friends, AND i think it would be fair too say from all of us a HUGE THANK YOU to you both.
Thank you maree and gav for putting on another great tech day and thanks for having us. It was great, learned some new tricks if I ever want to take a auto box out, met new members who are great blokes ( kyle, jermaine, ryan, jahred), and can finally put faces to names of the members who have been around on the forum a long time. I got some good tips and ideas from fellow zedders and it was great turn out with lots of laughs.
Was a great day, even though we had a few dramas with the auto box it was still a good experience and i will be definitely coming to the next one. Good to meet fellow zedders and it was awesome of gav to hold it at his place with the greatest zed tool ever, a hoist
Must shout out to Bones and Sarah,,,, big help guys... and those who came out to help from time to time majic, firehorse etc.., thanks
Sorry I missed this gents, had a full weekend of commitments. Would have been ace to meet a few guys and learn some zed stuff. Will definitely make it to the next one.
Laughed way too had at this. He's awesome at pulling them apart, but just hasn't learnt how to put them back together
