Took my Zed to pedders today and found out I have the following issues: * Worn shocks (no surprise there). What do you recommend as a cheap non adjustable shock (front and back)? I am thinking maybe KYB non adjustable as I dont need them to be adjustable. * Sway Bar links worn. I dont know if this is referring to the bushings or if the links are seperate? Maybe someone knows. * Right hand upper ball joint worn. Is this a bushing or does the whole joint need to be replaced? * Inner and outer upper bushes worn. I think this is referring to the control arms? * Small leak in the input shaft of the steering gear. No big problem at the moment but will be in the future. Heard of this before? They said replacing the whole thing will be around $600 * Left hand rear toe arm bent. Hope someone can shed some light on what is needed and what can be done. Would a full hyper-flex kit be more useful than getting the single kits? I will try to do most things myself (i can do shocks) but I assume a press of some sort is needed for most/all of the bushings. Cheers Rob
Get another opinion! Places like that, are Bullshit artest ripoffs. Took one off my 4x4s in for 4 OME shocks Came back after work to pick up, and the manager told me the brake load sensing valve was leaking and needed replaceing, and to prove it he had the valve in bits in a box, the car was still up on the hoist. There was oil on the Valve, only because i had bled the lines the day before, and didnt clean it up. The fruit loop wanted to replace the valve and it would cost $425. I made him put it back together, install it, had to wait over an hour for all this shit to happen, not happy! Chicks who dont no any better, get done like this all the time.
thats pretty cheeky... yeh i had that happen to me wit me old mitsu galant...the bastards tried to tell me my steering rack needed to be replaced...so i got a second opionion n they told me he waz full of himself... so yeh pays to get a second opoinin
