Hey everyone, can some one explain me please how to disassemble a steering rack. I can't undo the nut shown on the picture below. It goes ok for like 1 thread and then its stuck and I don't really want to **** it up :( Do I need to take something else before I even touch it ?

There are complete disassembly instructions in the service manual

if you have a look around the edge of the rack end. There is a metal stake driven into the end cap through the rack tube. You have to drill that out before you can rotate the end cap

Thank you, found it...would you also know where I could get a new set of oil seals or maybe a product number or something ? And what else should I replace while it's all disassembled ?

There are about 4 different seal kits for these racks and you have to get the right ones. Even the steering rack rebuilders can get it wrong and put the wrong ones in and they leak.

I suggest you pull it apart and take the seals to the rebuilder and ask for a seal set. Remember you have to replace the input steering shaft seal as well
