    ok here is the deal.
car not starting not even cranking. thought it was the PTU but it wasnt. checked the battery and it has 12.7 volts.
checked starter motor for at terminals. reading 12.7 volts at the main power and when cranking reading 1 or less volts on the solenoid. took out the starter motor and had it checked. all seems fine. auto elec only has the starter motor and thinks that it might be a relay or something like that. any ideas? Could it be a dead battery (collapsed cells) or something worse? any help would be greatly appreciated:YD

    Could be the battery

I always thought the car needs 14 volts to start, you dont have a spare battery to hook up and check?Max

    Definitely the battery...

...they dont need to read zero volts to be flat, it could still have over 12v, but very little charge, get a new battery. Dont forget that some people have had problems with battery installers breaking the plastic bit above the battery. Watch them and make sure they remove all the screws and dont try to force it off.
