Still have to put the cowls on and polish up the rims. Then when I can, I am going to tow it up to UAS for an engine rebuild. :zlove:

  3. Nice man looks almost identical to mine, except red not yellow. I have the same hood, Mine is a little dull. Cut and polish safe? Or is this a fresh coat of clear?

Mine was very dull, been on there for about 15 years. I think he sanded it back and applied a new clear coat.

Well done, it looks the goods. I also liked that bonnet. Always wanted to get one & still do but just a bit rich for me at the moment.

Instead of dragging your car/motor up to UAS why not take your motor to mildren race engineering S.A. I'm not sure exacly where they are but apparently there not bad to deal with.

I want a Z expert rebuilding my engine and hopefully to tidy up a few things on the car. I have heard of Mildren but I don't think they are Z specialists.

Beautiful paint job there ! I used to work around the corner from that Crash Repairer. He does some really good work. Had a look at his Facebook page and the walk around video he's done of your car. Terrific job of getting the fits right on the front bumper and new rear wing, as well as the attention to painting around the seals and door handles. Sounds like he pulled your targas apart too... lot of effort and really shows in the finish.

I only spotted it because I was looking for a local shop to fix my 'other' car (Mazda 3) that I clipped a curb with recently.

I remember your car at a couple of (the few) get togethers years back and I wasn't a fan really of the carbon bonnet back then, but after the refresh and the new coat of clear I'm a definite convert.
Good luck with the engine build, hope you wrap it up carefully before you ship it to Sydney.:zlove:

Thanx. He really did take it all apart. The bonnet I was worried about but it came up a million dollars.:zlove:

Wow! You're interior is coming along really well. I've got my interior being worked on at the moment as well. Hope it comes up looking as good as yours.

The person makes these top vents out of metal. You really can't see it from this from the photo, I will put up better pictures later.

I've been dealing with Mark at MRC Dyno on another nissan i have. He does a lot of 300zx work. He's super friendly and easy to deal with. I would at least talk to him before making any decisions. I haven't had any work done directly by UAS but I bought a 300zx that has had 30K+ work done by UAS. Looking at the emails, the receipts, the costs and then the workmanship of said items all i can say is they are special alright.

    Zeo,
You should definitely get other opinions. I'm sure you will get reviews to counter what i have said. Everyone has bad days, I have had my share.

In a perfect world you would have:
    1) piles of cash
    and
    2) can rely on anyone you give it to to do an awesome job.
At least one of these isn't true.

You will have to be the project manager, know exactly what you are talking about and are able to communicate that so as there are no misunderstandings. If your not able to do this i wonder if someone could do this for you for a fee. Paying someone to manage it for you could be far cheaper in the long run. If Rob260 is interested he would be a good candidate in my view. If i remember correctly he had a less than successful build in the past and is currently doing another pretty extreme build. Practice makes perfect. He is also going to know all the little tricks you should do to make the VG more reliable once you start upping the power. This is something that even a very good machine shop is unlikely to know. This brings us full circle to you wanting a specialist. He can supply parts as well.

Spotters fee Rob? I'll send my account details.
