As I'm slowly taking parts off my Z ready for a good service, I'm seeing that the previous owner has put more work into this car than I expected. The problem for me is... I'm not familiar enough with a stock 300z, so I don't really know what has been done OR if it's actually a good idea. I have put a series of images below, and I would love if you guys could tell me 1. If it's standard, a replacement or an upgrade 2. Anything else you know about it. 1. K&N Pod Filter + MAF Delete? 2. Front mount radiator? 3. Fuel rails have a braided line joining them + something blue (really hard to get a photo of sorry) 4. Mystery lines and Mystery connector? I have no idea what these could be. 5. I have two of these? Solenoids for boost control? Here's a good look at the whole engine bay if you want to find anything else interesting! Let me know what you think, I am open to all feedback and advice. If you want to see anything else feel free to ask!
I have put a series of images below, and I would love if you guys could tell me 1. If it's standard, a replacement or an upgrade 2. Anything else you know about it. 1. K&N Pod Filter + MAF Delete? One cannot simply delete the MAF. It is most likely that your car is fit with an aftermarket ECU with a MAP sensor. I would suggest opening the ECU compartment (located beneath the passenger's fee) for further inspection. 2. Front mount radiator? Yep that is a "side by side" front mount intercooler (not radiator) commonly available from 3. Fuel rails have a braided line joining them + something blue (really hard to get a photo of sorry) The blue thing is a fitting/adapter. Looks like you have aftermarket fuel rails, hard to tell which ones but (going by colour) I would assume they are 300 degrees or the conceptz copy. 4. Mystery lines and Mystery connector? I have no idea what these could be. Vacuum lines are from redundant circuits originally used to control emissions devices. The mystery connector is from a redundant control solenoid. 5. I have two of these? Solenoids for boost control? Correct Here's a good look at the whole engine bay if you want to find anything else interesting! From what I can see. Good idea? Perhaps, although the installation is very untidy and there's a hell of a lot to clean up! The vacuum lines appear to be in poor condition, the fuel lines are routed poorly, and the wiring harness is installed incorrectly putting strain on the already fragile wires, uncovered wires up the back, air filter needs a clean, incomplete removal of vacuum circuits from solenoids that appear to be removed... pretty standard Z stuff haha I see you're in NSW; if you're anywhere near Sydney feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like it looked over. [QUOTE=" I see you're in NSW; if you're anywhere near Sydney feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like it looked over.[/QUOTE] I’m in Newcastle, so not too far, but too far for the old girl at this stage! Let me know if you’re ever in town. I’ll definitely be working on it for some time so you’ll see plenty of me in the forum, I’m also currently saving my pennies for your Timing kit. also, yes it has a Wolf V550 ECU Thank you for your wisdom
