...Had to replace the bushes in the LH front suspension upper link. After removing the link (incredibly easy for a Zed!!), and painstakenly removed the bushes. Then was told by the dealer you can only buy the bushes, assembled complete with link. So ordered the link, and it came a couple of days later (cost $263.22).
I couldnt put it in till this morning, and when I tried to refit the inner guard mounting bracket (which has to be removed, to remove the inner pivot bolt), the (captive) bolts wouldnt line up with the holes in the bracket. I could get 3 lined up, but the 4th was out just enough, not to go through the bracket hole.

What the problem was, I had left the car jacked up, with a floor jack under the front of the LH body rail, and the front must have twisted slightly.

I jacked the car up under the lower suspension pivot point. I still couldnt get the bracket to fit so I left the car for a couple of hours, and tried again. This time the bracket lined up with the bolts perfectly.

Moral... do not leave the car jacked up on one side by the body rail for a week.

    I am not a fan of urethane...>>

...and as I had removed the old bushes, I checked them out, they are not your run of the mill rubber bush, in fact they are rather high tech, befitting a vehicle, which when new cost $85,000 in 1994.
Replacing these bushes with urethane, would be a bit like chipping ones out of stone.
