Alright it's that time of year again..and here comes the bitch... I still don't understand the concept of how they drop the agreed contract each year?!?? Shouldn't they just say call us in order to renew your contract and not just put a value they think is reasonable on your car? My zed was insured for $18,000 last year, and this year they dropped it to $15,000...but the thing is they wont let me pay extra in order to get my value of $18,000 again...I have no choice ...so how the hell is this an "agreed value between both parties"!!! [TIS] I was told in order to get my agreed value of $18,000 I have to "better my zed, by spending more money on it"...what happens if it's pretty much done to how I want it? As far as I'm concerned they drop the value each year..so does that mean if I don't spend any more money on my car that in a few years time it will be worth the market value...well F%&k that!! I'm not in the slightest bit impressed ... By the way the girl I was talking to was called Georgia, she said her partner is on this forum with a green zed..so whoever is the forum member, get your girlfriend to explain what the hell in writing..cause I'm still baffled!
Just as an alternative to you and the other forum members I have an alternative. I have since getting the z have classic car insurance with RACV also available from NRMA. Here is the basic good points. Agreeded value last upon renewal had not changed from the previous year. It includes total care at no extra cost which includes towing and a host of features if the car breaks down over 100k from home. The reall good new.... $330 a year providing its only used twice a week (dont know how they would check that anyway) search the internet: racv classic car insurance for all the relevant dribble

get a daily.. makes driving the zed so much more fun, but dont get anything better looking or newer or faster otherwise you will be stepping down to the zed and it will make you cry yourself to sleep. sif you could forget me sorry... retype that sif you can get away from me and how could you not click straight away... hmmm forum member with green zed..... + WA
do they have the current up to date spec and photos of your car??? if they dont send them new ones and get them to reevaluate their decision.
please dont take it the wrong way,but you should be happy with that valuation Its a black n/a with a bodykit and a few extras In todays market it certainly wouldnt cost 15 to replace it and the insurance company knows this too well,youre mistaking the value of your car with the value of your time to get it done Take the 15k quick before the insurance companies look at this forum and see what highly modified t/t zeds are selling for these days and its most definately less than 15k
they insured my Z for $18,500 just because it has wide body and custom wheels on it. So there is your answer Ren.
I have my stock standard aus spec insured for a large amount too... This is an agreed value with the NRMA so most likely it will drop next year. Looking at all the work you've put into the car i can completely understand why your after the higher agreed value but unfortunately i think you will have a hard time getting 18k, maybe ring around and see what other companies will do it for?
the best bet is to list all your mods... like EVERYTHING that is what will push it up. Mine is higher then norm but thats because i have done a lot to it and when I listed (note i listed through another agent not the missus) thats the number the computer spat out. so list everything.. momo gear shift? list it. left over chicken treat in back seat? list it.
yep, renee ... that is the same crap that i got from Shannons on my two zeds last nov/december ... both dropped from the "agreed" value by around $3000 ... they were as rude as buggery and would enter no discussion .... .. and i was told bluntly that "agreed value" meant the figure which Shannons agreed to insure a vehicle for ..... their figure ...!!! there was quite a long thread on that episode ... under my nic and headed something like ... "agreed value ... not what you think ..." ...
With the 8000 per year thing... do they check your odo readings or something, how do they know how far you've travelled? That's a pretty good premium btw.
