Seat Rail Bars

Probably one of the rarer braces for the Z32, seat rail bars bolt between the body and rear seat bolt holes and are supposed to increase rigidity in the floor of the car. I've rarely seen these for sale and as far as I'm aware are only made by Secret Sports in Japan. Zshop in Canada sell them for a ridiculous $270 here. Nowhere really sells these at a reasonable price or with reasonable shipping charges, so I've had a small batch made up locally. We have improved on the original design with the primary change being the use of a larger diameter bar and thicker steel which should help to make them stronger and beefier.

Please note that the bars pictured are my own that I have painted. The bars you receive will be in primer and are ready for you to paint/powdercoat any colour you want to help keep costs down. And being hand made there may be some visual imperfections in the finish of the welds.

These bars mount on the rear inner mounting point for the drivers and passengers seat, and the B pillar seatbelt mounting hole on the body. Cars with door mounted seatbelts will still have the hole in the body but will need a hole made in the carpet for the bolt. For cars with body mounted seatbelts, they mount over the bracket as can be seen in the photos. Due to the nature of where these bars mount with relation to the seatbelt you may need approval to legally fit these in your state. These are a universal fit for both 2+2 and 2+0.

I have 10 pairs available that I have already made the initial outlay on and these are ready to go. Price is $99 per pair including postage Aust. wide.

Kudos for going the DIY engineering route as the original asking price seem unrealistic for what they really are.

Not, not believing their true function, but would using such a device not apply more load to that seat stud then what it was really designed for?

Furthermore, how much movement is there really which warrant a strengthening device like this?

Ill reiterate, im not, not believing its function. But have been curious about these since they became popular.

    Any insight perhaps?

To be completely honest I'm not sure how much of a structural benefit they add vs a visual benefit. But every little bit helps I guess especially in the middle where the body can flex around the targas. And there seems to be debate about how much almost every type of structural bracing for a z32 actually helps these days (bar a cage). As far as the load on the mounting points, I personally don't think it's too much of an issue (though everyone will have their own take on this). Seats, seatbelts and their mounting points are designed to withstand extremely high forces from any direction in an accident, the rear seat mounting points especially. I don't think any force these bars would exert on them wouldn't come close to that.

I've painted a few sets satin black in case anybody doesn't want them unpainted.
