the car has a bad hesitation so i have put datascan on it and when you switck off cyl 3 and 6 there is no change so i changed coil packs and plugs with with 1 and 2 but still no difference has anyone any ideas cheers geoff
when mine was doing that it was the injector connectors..they were working but not all the time. So i was fluctuating between 4 and 6 cyls. I don't know if you are saying you have 2 completely dead cyls but that could be something to have a look at. I just wiggled the connectors and just like that she was running perfectly..new connectors and off you go..cheap to
Have you done any maint or mods lately? Check PTU pins/connectors are clean and do a continuity check on PTU. Also clean injector connectors. Corrosion is a probable cause.
check that a spark is coming out at your coil packs by bringing the offending spark plug in contact with ground (the plenum) one at a time (keep well clear of the plenum when doing this). If You have Spark then check the voltage across the injectors. I'm not sure what amperage comes out of the injectors. Anyone? but i would assume you could check this with a standard multimeter if its below 10 Amps. I am 95% sure you have an electrical problem. file down and thouroughly and clean all your PTU, Coil Pack And Injector Connectors. Go Though the Trouble Shooting Guide of the Factory Service Manual and if you still have problems then you haven't done everything! (probably)
Thanks all i have just checked the ecu connector and pulled it apart and then screwd it back to gether and she is firing on all six again cheers
