I started the car yesterday after it started kept on trying to stall but if i pumped the accelerator pedal like mad the revs came back up but as soon as they did it would try too stall again i did this 6 times before it would idle but it was still missing a bit on the right side exhaust pipe and if you drive the car it just dies then i can restart it and drive it a bit more and it will die again and this will happen all the time while driving i have checked the fuel pump this fine as i thought it could have a fuel problem.I have herd it could be the AFM. I would like to know if any one else has had a similar problem. I think i need some help with this problem. Plus i can`t get my conzult to work it connects or so it sais but i can`t get any data up, i use a nissan consult via a usb adapter as new notebooks don`t have any DB9 serial ports so i need some help with this to.:bash:
The idle prob shouldn't be too serious. Cross off the basics (fuel/spark) before you buy any new parts. The 1st thing is to get the error codes from the ECU which leads to your 2nd problem. Contact the supplier of your Conzult and cable for the settings to get it working. In the interim, you can use the old paperclip method to get the codes. Check the tech section for ECU diagnostic. Not as glamorous as the conzult display but it will reveal any error codes that may be causing the idle issue. Can you provide some background info- how did the car run before the idle problem etc. Any work completed etc...
The car was running fine just started doing this, all that has been done is a new clutch and a complete new exhaust system plus a brand new battery
Have you checked for vacuum leaks, hoses not connected or split? If problem occurred just after battery fitting I'd suggest a vac hose has been dis-lodged.
third that Mark (zed4life) found a vac hose off on mine on Saturday. it was the same one I'd found off three times already, each time coinciding with a battery "change"
It seems to me alot more people have the same problems i have once i have mine fixed i will put up a post to let you all know what it was.[TIS]
has it ever worked for you before? USB Consult cables ship with a emulation driver to emulate a serial port. Most tuner or diagnostic software generally runs off com1, but you can change that in the settings. If you have the drivers loaded then you may need to go into device manager (right click my computer, system tab, device manager) and scroll down to your usb devices, and there should be a device name with whatever the driver you installed was called (mines A-Devs, some are called consult, ADL, etc, etc), go to properties and there should be the option to select the coms port, make sure it's on 1 and then go again. Make sure the ECU is initialised (key in the start position or engine on) before you open datascan, or TECU, or consult. Hope that helps.
