    Any ideas?
I managed to successfully replace my reverse light sensor without removing exhaust/trans. All off the ground with car on stands. Complete prick of a job.

I screwed the new one in and plugged in the lead but still no cigar. Still ain't got no reverse lights. (Have been having black box problems too).

Top tip: if you don't need to keep your old sensor, disconnect at the plug and then get a chisel and a hammer and chop the white plastic nub off at the base of the sensor. This will allow you to get a 19mm hex socket over the sensor whereby it's a simple job of unscrewing with a socket wrench. Will save you HOURS and skinned knuckles and loud profanities that scare your neighbours.

Make sure it's tight enough. Mine didn't work after the new sensor went on and I did the same thing, destroy the old sensor to get it out easier but getting the new one on with no space meant it wasn't screwed on tight enough.

Worked fine after I tightened it further but clearly I should have used thread locker since it's now loose and lights aren't working again.

****, back under the car again. Really not a nice place to be. Will try my mini vice grips again.
