Is there anyway to do this on a 89 model without breaking the door card?

I'm unable to wind the window down as it looks like the motor has gone (already checked and replaced the window power amplifier)

But from what I've read so far its not possible to remove the screw that is located behind the glass near the pillar

I need to replace the door cards at some point so its not the end of the world if that the only way but I would prefer not too if possible.

    thanks

its possible and ive done it before..

remove the seat belt bolt on the a pillar, unclip that trim piece on the bottom only

you should be able to get a screwdriver in there and undo the screws..
you will not be able to get the screws out, so let them drop down.

when the trim is off you can retrieve the screws you dropped.

i take no responsibility for you pulling and breaking parts. this is what i have done in the past and it has worked for me.

check out a pic of a door card
its the two fasteners that sit under the door pillar trim that will give you grief .
depends if ur willing to sacrafice the pillar trim
with the window down a bit you can remove round plastic cap on outside of pillar under the window and acess the screw holding the trim in place to release it giving acess to top of door card
aazn is correct but as the trims can be very brittle inside proceed with much caution
    good luck

I'm looking to replace the door cards and pillar trims so assuming I have replacements its not a big issue for me as they are in poor condition anyway.

But I prefer taking things apart neatly but in this case I suspect it wont be an option :(

I will give it a go and see how I get on :)

    Cheers
