What's a good direct replacement for stock rear shocks; OEM or similar spec aftermarket?

I assume it's a simple replacement, on hoist at Tech Day, with rear trim removed. Any tips welcome as I have not done it before on a Zed.

    and your a mod!

    though you are old...

don't need a hoist but can make it easy, 2 nuts top of shocks on each, 1 bolt at bottom and it will slide out. Don't be scared to put some grunt in getting it out can be quite tight in there...

easy to do im sure you can manage it in half an hour.

ac delco would be cheapest stock replacement shocks.

msg this guy and ask him if he has some in stock.... he deals with them

if your looking for something more quality based look for stock replacements from the kyb range

There's a line there somewhere about you only doing the rear Rob :p But I'll leave it alone :D:rofl:[TIS]

Serriously tho, only the rear? Wouldn't it be best to match front and rear?

    Fronts are fine...

.... only done 147,000k's. Dunno why the rears are leaking, I drive like a granny  I do like a firm rear end though ;)

The stock replacements for the Z32 rear end from Bursons are KYB

They are really quite good too and not too expensive either. I had them on my car before I put the AGX's on.

In some ways the ride was much better with the Stock replacment KYB's

I had KYB non-adjustable shocks on my white zed Rob and found them to be excellent. Of course you know you will need to remove the strut assembley and use spring compressors to swap over the shocks. I had a sh*t time trying to undo the top nut to remove the shock. A zed guru such as yourself will have no such problem:p:zlove:.

Another vote for the KYB Excel's.

Had them on the black car. Do you want me to bring my spring compressors to the tech day Rob?

would you guys know if a set of JIC suspension fits onto stock mounting points?
cant seem to find the model no., just says "JIC suspension project" on the shock.

because my rears are fekk'd and need to be replaced, and i'm looking just for some decent replacements. may look into the KYB that you have suggested in this thread.

JIC's for the zed will fit right in, but if they are JIC's for another car then they probable won't fit :p Bring em along and we'll be able to tell you yay or nay.

ohh ok, i cant find any model no.s or anything on the shock.. even scrubbed it hoping it was hiding under some grease or something.. only have a sticker reading "JIC suspension project".
seems to have stock springs as there is overspray on them and i highly doubt that my car has been resprayed.

the shock is leaking oil - but i have noticed that what looks like to be a seal is broken, (shown)

would it be possible to be get it repaired orr..?
