    today i thought i would get it a wash and a clean up before i put her back in the garage, and to my dismay, the side of the driveway is to low for the front bar, so it got ripped off at the side and is now going to the dump.

    still gave it a wash though and it looks alright. I'm going to need a standard front bar with the springs it got.

    so i'm thinking

    (yes i know that is dangerous) but there must be something wrong with my zed. i have fitted 3 pairs of test pipes now and none of them fit.

    2 of them were npower pipes both brand new. the other one was npower pipes with cats welded in. what is happening is when you bolt both of them up, the drivers side sits 10 to 15mm further to the back of the car then the passengers side.

    now i have changed the dump pipes to npower and when i changed then i did one side at a time and made sure that i replaced then correctly. so i don't know why the test pipes don't want to fit.

    mind you there is a dint just under the drivers side headlight. i don't know the crash history of the car but i don't think (just by looking at it) that it has been pranged hard enough to bend the car that far.

    but hey, i'm just thinking here. so if you got some ideas on why this is happening, then post them up.

    Yeah i had the dumps/test pipes on my car for a few weeks , and they didn't fit well either , one side was better than the other from memory , their jig must be out?

    haven't actually check the engine mounts out yet. how would i do that.


    and yeah the test pipes are cheap and are out of whack most times. but 3 pairs.

    To get a 10-15mm difference at the cat back, your engine and trans would be so far out of alignment, the gearbox would be hard up against one side of the tunnel. By the sound of it, your dumps are a fair wack out. Just get the test pipes cut and rewelded.

    For my npower test pipes, i need to put a good size screwdriver in one of the bolt holes and lever the crap outtta it to get to match up.

    One of my test pipes sits lower than the other, Just the quality you buy I supose ;)

    we're close now. put the zed into erics and got it back in excellent time. thanks to eric. had to change the whole shifter over (it an auto) cause it wouldn't lock into any gear. it would just got from park to first no need to use the button. thanks to eric again for the spare shifter assembly. put the console back together, put the front bar back on and the rest of the front. bout 2 weeks and i reckon it will be there. then just have to kit it and paint it.

    well its registered.

    got the zed registered today after 3 years. plus or missus. runs like a bucket of crap. vibrates like a (fill the blank in yourself) doesn't make boost at all. and blew the make shift egr bung out of the exhaust manifold.

    Well Bonez, for fark's sake, hold another Tech day with bbq and booze! You'll see every ZXpert in Qld at your door and it'll be running perfect by the end of the day!

    well, that didn't work

    well bout 6 months ago when i was changing the dump pipes, i noticed that the passengers side turbo was seized. probably from sitting there for so long. so i put it all back together hoping, with luck, that it would free up after running it for a while. it didn't work at all. the turbo must be solid, and it is the reason why it keeps blowing the egr bungs that i put in there out. so after 3 year of trying not to take the engine out. i have no choice but to to that. i'll change the turbos for some good second had ones, and get rid of the hicas, whats left of it, and get rid of anything else that i dont need in the bay.

    so i started today with i got home from work. would of spent bout 4 hours on it. and i got all the top of the engine disconnected and all good. now i just have to jack the car up and put it on blocks, so i can do all the rest of the stuff that is under the car. i took some pics of where i am at. so enjoy. cause i'm not.

    the guards were rooted for the previous owner. so i am going to get some replacements.

    seeing as the aussie dollar was so good against the green back. i thought that i would spend some money and get me a turbo upgrade.

    garrett turbos
    740cc injectors
    selin dual afm and adaptor
    5 bolt dumps
    cats
    bov
    new air filters.

    all the stuff arrived today and should be getting fitted and tune within the next 3 weeks. here are some piccies of the stuff
