Recently, I purchased a 91 300zx TT Targa with the intention of restoring it. I was doing work on the steering and found that almost all the steering components were gone. I have gotten an NA pump and revisor and have done a HICAS delete, but lack all of the mounting brackets and bolts. Should I buy brackets to fit the NA or TT, and if so, anyone know where to get any?
If you have a NA pump you need an NA mount and an NA adjuster bracket (the one that bolts onto the front of the alternator mount). You will need to try and find these parts second hand.
Are the US and JDM mounting brackets the same, as I’m looking at importing some from the US but I’m unsure whether they’ll fit?
Worst case you could do what I ended up doing. Grinding down the back plate of the NA pump to fit onto the TT mount. There is plenty of what I call safe material to be removed. Doesn't interfere or come close to the galleries in back plate. ---- The test grind sweep pictured didn't need to be as far in to exposing bolts. As I was testing fitting on the car, and couldn't see what was catching. The ground down thickness was 6mm but wouldn't need to be as much IF my mount's brass sleeve actually moved to adjust depth. The pump back plate bolts threads are only engaged in the main body, the back plate has no threads (NA pumps can be Alloy or iron if buying from eBay) Parts I used: Z32 NA Pump (did not come with feed pipe), Z32 NA reservoir, Z31 feed pipe (thus cut length of hose instead of standard NA feed hose.) Every thing else was TT: pulley etc Side note, I had other Nissan PS pumps to test on, as they share same outer measurements. The differences were feed pipe style (though same mounting), pulley depth and belt style (though same spline) High pressure hose mount<- main stopper to bolting on a different pump.
Ripped apart a NA motor recently for parts, let me know what you need and I’m happy to sell and post em over to you. Send pictures of the bits aswell.
