Has anyone here in Canberra got themselves an optima battery? I thought i'd seen a post before but search came up with zilch. I'm sure the sellers will attempt to sell me something else, in which case what specs should I be looking for? sealed battery? 500 crank amps?? Thanks guys
Optima batteries are excellent Simon They're imported & distributed by Ryde Batteries in Sydney. However, Century have just brought out a new battery after $6m spent on development & testing in Middle East temperatures. The NS70L is suited to high performance vehicles operating in high ambient temps. Retail @ $150. The NS70LX is ultra high performance & recommended if yr running UD pulley + big stereo sys. Around $175. I've got the NS70L.
Search doesn't seem to be working too well ...>> Does it restrict how far back it searches? I posted a couple of years ago about Optima and Odessy batteries but search comes up with nothing.
Battery World sells them.... ....in Newcastle, so you should be able to get one in canberra also. My battery is on its last legs, so I'll be picking one up in a week or two
ryde batteries I got a red top 800cca Optima from Ryde Batteries last year, I don't know if they are still doing this special, but if you buy 2 or more ,they give a 15% discount, brought the price down to $285 each
[plug] - battery world Ben (black_tt) who used to be a member of this forum until he sold his zed, owns/runs two battery world's in adelaide. He had a group buy organised at one stage and he would most likely be willing to do a good price again. if you have the old group buys then look it up or else ring him direct on 0402 366 633. Cheers AB
Yeah, I'll plug Ben too >> or at least his business. Seems funny getting a car battery sent to you in the post, but if it's a dry cell you want, it can be done. I have bought an Optima and an Odyssey from him, good prices, no hassles.
thanks guys but seeing as my Z is my daily driver I picked one up yesterday afternoon, and was back cruising last night
