Opinion thread on ferrari tailights!

To answer the original question, I like them personally BUT i probably wont get them

I like the way they look. Esp if the infill is left stock (ie NOT debadged) so its not like you're a pretender as the infil proudly states "300ZX"

Z32 rear with JUST ferrari tail lights and a blank infill looks ....dunno....just unfinished imho....but it is just an opinion

why wouldn't I do it?

Well....dont quote me, coz maybe i will in the future as I DO like them, but I also feel th head and tail lights of a car are as much a "badge" as the badge itself. Throw on a body kit etc etc and all that is fine.... but change the cars "face" and that's when you're taking away from what it is....imho

As for modding being a compliment to the designer...... i can't say i agree. It CAN be taken as some P plater student punk saying to the designer "your crap... i can do better"

depends on the designer and only THEY can answer that question for themselves and I bet each one has a diferent answer.

As for Ferrari Purists.....I'd never do this... but this is on adaptation of the Koenig Testarossa

and dont forget, this puppy isn't just a beast on the outside.... part of the Koenig build is, among other engine and exhaust work, bolting TWIN TURBOS onto the V12

That part i'm unaware of.
The previous owner had it done because they didnt like the look of dual exhaust apparently, where as i actually kinda like dual exhaust... but the single has grown on me a bit so i don't know if i'll change it just yet

 

Personally, I love STOCK lights. Amber or Clear (though I'm going clear as I do think they look better in the end).

Its interesting how some people have said that its something they don't like, whereas its one of the things that draws me to Zeds. A car like a 300zx makes a big statement with a few visual points like that. The headlights (good enough for lambo to use) and the taillights (which were both modern at the time and quite 'mean' looking) are key reasons that I love the car. They create presence... something every great car needs to have.

So naturally, I don't like any tail light that robs the car of its image. Ferrari lights look ok on Ferarri, but even then they are a poor design.

ferrari slap lights on cars because they need to to make it legal

i bet given half a chance, they'd prefer NO lights

I gave a detailed and clear opinion on why I was not a "fan" of this sort of mod(on ANY prestige Marque), and followed it with an equally clearly stated personal opinion that, "Ferrari lights belong on Ferrari's".

HAHAHA i agree and ill have to add if you want the rear end of a ferrari you will have to buy one lol .... i had before my "Z" a ferrari 250GTO with the
VG20ET single turbo motor in it and it looked the shit and went pretty bloody hard cause it was so light but after owning/driving the 300 i would never trade back ... and i would certinly not bugger up its hard ass looks by putting some gay tail lights on it :bash:

Would have been a kit car or a fancy body kit not a real GTO, those are stupendously expensive and you wouldn't sell it to by a Z...

 

There used to be a stunning body kit for 240Z/260Z, that turned them into almost perfect replicas of the 250GTO(I nearly bought one myself).:zlove::zlove:
