$2K. Two seater, red. A few mods on it. But he's doing a full once over on it. Should be niiiice. That's what I wanted to do...bugger he beat me to it!!Any ideas on what motors would fit straight into a 260Z? He's thinking about the RB25DET or RB26DETT. I'd personally like a big chev engine in there...:)

go the rb26, they are little

bloody rockets with those engines fitted  You should ask/search on TT.net as loads of people over there have 260's with engine conversions, some with v8's, some with 26's

The popular choice used to be>

a Leyland P76, 4.4 ltr, all alloy V8. About 100kg lighter than the original straight 6.
    Fun car!Cheers

All rb motors are almost bolt on, even the

engine mounts can be used, only need mild modifications. Can't get pass the rb30, if you got a bit to spend use a rb25 head or even a rb26 head! lots of power lots of torque. I reakon rb30block/rb25 head is the best combo in terms of budget to power ratio. Rb26 is really a waste of money because a rb30/25 combo will do the job better for a rwd, make more power and torque, with much less money spent. Has been done many times before, the guy who did it on a black 240 making 300+rwkw:( sold his car for another 240 being fitted with a inifinity 4.5 v8 turbo OMG!!!.

    have a look at

Hybridz.org for a few ideas. I have a '77 260z and it's great because you know that no matter what goes wrong with it, it's going to be relatively easy and cheap to fix - unlike other cars I might mention..... 260z the car designed with the 'home mechanic' in mind!

How about 2JZ with a 1JZ head on it?

Something different, and very strong bottom end too.
Of course the RB is a bolt in, but everyone has done that. Looks very impressive when in there but, especialy if you coin up on an RB26! Now that will get the chi-ching going :)

in reaching a decision, but as I know nothing about in-line Nissan 6's, I can't tell you what they are - except that the first one is NOT a nissan, and more in line with your stated preference :YD :YD :YD. 4th car- Rb30 sohc turbo from either vl commo or r31 sky

Think the first one is a small block chev?

    Pretty common conversion.
