I went to nissan today to get a price comparison to coz's price on front wheel bearings...coz has them for $60US plus freight .

I was very surprised to find that nissan had them for $73.55AU each on the shelf in perth.

I have also found the pricing not to savage when i had to buy a new shifter bracket to hold the shifter up...120 bucks or there abouts...

    whats are other peoples thoughts?

It all depends on what it is. I got quoted $450 for a centre bearing

For some strange reason everybody here seem to think Nissan dealers are crap. Admittedly they are overly expensive on some items, but not on all.

Whatever parts you need, they come from or were designed by Nissan so it is always a good point to start there. At least you get a reference point.

$450 for a centre bearing is way over the top, but a $60 one is a cheap and nasty one without the 'use once' nut. Probably does the job though, but once replaced the wobble in the U joints may make themselves noticable so time for a one piece shaft.

Front wheel bearings are around 60 bucks?

Why did AMEC charge me $260 for a rear one!

Surely they can't be that different??

I reused the old nut, worked fine. But it highlighted the uni problem so I got a 1 piece. The actuall bearing was quite good.

Dont buy parts in Australia for the 50th time, get them from Courtesy Parts in the states. You'll save a ton of coin trust me. Especially if you're buying parts from another shop locally who is also getting them from Nissan because you can bet your ass that they've put their slice on top aswell.

Probably couldn't go to Courtesy Parts that for all the parts though, like some interior pieces would be LHD, maybe some exhaust parts also?
