Online manual may not help much

in this situation. There is a way to adjust the boot release. Remove the interior trim panel in the middle (2 plastic screws, 2 10mm nuts) and by loosening the bolts of the latch and moving it up and down and then tightening them again lets you adjust how it works. One way it won't release, the other it won't close, got to find the right point.Ben

    petrol flap

If when u push down on the lever it feels like it is doing something, check the spring inside flap is pushing out the flap. Youre flap push out spring (looks more like a flat bit of steel) may need adjusting to force flap open when u push lever.Gene

    Might sound silly, but...

...could this be the problem? When I got my Zed, I had difficulty releasing the fuel flap, until I noticed that the thickness of the genuine floor mat was preventing the release lever from being pushed down far enough to engage the release. Now, all I do is lift the mat away a bit, and the lever can depress the correct distance to release the flap.
