The Blue Z (ex Mungyz TT manual slicktop) went in for a fresh tune today at Dtech in Tauranga.

It topped out at 418 kW on the previous dyno tuning round in Hamilton, but ran 403 initially this time, maybe due to warm and muggy conditions vs cold and relatively low humidity last time (both are Dynapack hub dynos), and now sitting at 437 kW (hub) at the top now, and 713 Nm @ 4700

The nearly 34 kW delta is pretty decent though. All up it seems to be a bit smoother (was already pretty good) and definitely has a smoother idle when hot. I'm not 100% sure but I think it might sound a little better too (less drony).

They also set up knock control, and closed loop boost control, and sorted out an overly rich when cruising issue.

    Really pleased all up

Hey cool, and yup, definitely the car from Glenn / The Lab's you tube channel. The are a lot of interesting threads on this forum regarding this Z from when Glenn owned it (search Mungyz user name). I've followed the build of it when I owned my owned my previous Z like 15 years ago lol.

    Here's the dyno sheet

    Thank you, me too!

As mentioned above, I've also followed the evolution of this Z by Glenn for many years, and when I saw it for sale in a bit of a sorry state and in need of rescue I jumped on it - poor wee Z. It's much happier now though

    pmac Z,, IT'S COMPLICATED!!!!!

Great to see you have rescued it from what was some absolutely shocking work done by a very dodgy shop.
