    DrongoMan Sir

Just got my car back from Pacific Motors after a lot of work + new parts and to keep it short, its running absolutely beautifully, far better than i expected.

While i'm driving it quite sedately at the moment while running in a new clutch and brake pads etc etc, next week i'll start analysing how each performs in comparison to what were on there before

Brakes - From OEM to RB74 h/c (don't ask me what the h/c is...). I am told that i am one of the very first to get my hands on these made with a new compound. While i am not pushing the car at the moment, it feels like these pads have fantastic response on stock machined rotors. Even in the cold this morning they seemed to grip from the work go...

My main point of this post is, what qualities should i be reporting on when analysing these new brake pads? Grip in the cold, after a hard drive, under hard braking etc etc?

Clutch - From UAS Heavy Duty NA Clutch - to an Exedy clutch. Too early to tell the difference, i was really impressed with the clamp of the UAS one, but i managed to break it in 15,000 or so km's which i do blame myself for. (theres only one way prove that an NA can beat a TT up to 100km/h...or a GST-T or... a turbo S15 whenever the chance comes, and thats by f*cking your car up :p... no more i tell you... no more!).

Short Shifter - Need to get used to it, I guess i'll have more fun when i'm not pussy footing around my clutch. (Thanks to Simon @ TTZ for overnighting a short shifter  while my gearbox was out, and answering 100 and 1 questions happily)

Tyres - Trying out the Bridgestone Potenza GIII's which i managed to get quite cheap and will be comparing these to Eagle F1's, Dunlop Doreza's, Continentals. I had these for about a week before i had clutch probs, damn good grip in the wet, however still need to do alot of testing, soon.

But yeah, plenum also came off to address some oil leaks, cleaned out the intakes etc , replaced all hoses, and new ignition connectors (Thanks Caz for the urgent order & supply of Engine Breather Hoses ). A Puck load of hoses everywhere got replaced, rear main seal fixed, both engine mounts replaced etc etc.

So yeah very happy... and well worth the money spent / peace of mind  now time for more power :bash:

    Are they RaceBrake pads?

Report on all the above is welcome, particularly hard (emergency) braking and fade, if any.
Slotted rotors and Racebrake pads certainly improved my stopping power!

see how they go with fade. take the car for a mountain run and on the downward run see if the brakes continue to perform well or if they start to lose bite as you get further down the slopes.
