    yet another great Australian company

They sure can help, truly outstanding service and product But I would suggest that you don't use them , particularly if you make the package fragile and they get youre extremely ill, 86yr old, war-veteran widowed mother to sign for it [delivery driver changed my name to hers on the paperwork to do it !] while you are out for 15mins.

She did notice the damage [ the end of the package was just flopping around] and pointed it out to the driver, but the driver said she need to sign for it anyway, then and there, and b#gg#r#d off 5 minutes before I returned. At least she saw him write "damaged" on his paperwork.

Of course the flighty little receptionist who sent the package off, had forgotten to pay the $6.51 to insure it.

    thank you TOLL IPEC company

    as delivered

again - NOTE the dirt/bitumen where it was dropped [ from a significant height ] onto the end to cause the damage

    check this out

    and

It is not easy to snap/break/crush this thickness of fibreglass with just ONE try - in this hemisphere only Toll Ipec has that type of advanced expertise , and they reserve it for UNINSURED products - hey - it teaches their customers a good lesson in not trying to save money !!

check out the tip - its been broken off ! and thats NOT a chip - the piece left is almost a perfect 2.5cm SOLID pyramid - BUT as the throughly professional transport company they are, they did not lose it - it remained with the rest of the pieces - now THATS SERVICE !!!

it is constructed with three STRONGLY reinforced internal corners [ cross section is a triangle ] these guys have managed to totally take out 2 of the three seams.

This is one of the reinforced internal corners

    and this is the other

Now there is sweet FA I can do about this, its not the sellers fault the bird-brained receptionist had a IQ strain that morning.

TOLL IPEC use contact deliverers who get paid slave wages and have to accept the package for delivery or get "Howarded" so it was probably a risk for the poor bloke to even write "damaged" on his paperwork.

The seller contacted the company and did his best [ thanks Jake - I've no complaints with you at all] and got nowhere.

So here is the story, the whole story and a true story, and this one tiny lone howl on the forum is the only thing left for me to do before leaving the whole sorry mess behind, while I deal with more important issues in life.

    cheers

Cra-Z-Boy no nissan at all :(

    That really sucks big time

I used to work of TOLL IPEC and yes never send anything you want kept in one piece.
I worked in the Dangerous goods department and counldnt get over how slack the carry guys are ,they dont give a rats arse.
They still have to give you insurance on the goods .
All you have to do is show them that your Mum didnt know anything about the item and wasnt fit to sign for it.
You can make a claim as you wernt the one that signed for the item and it would have been sent to your name..
You have to push them as they wont want to help but puch hard and dont stop and if they dont give you a claim form goto small claims with your full story and make sure they know the Mum part and you will get your money back
Really sorry to hear this dude

  3. Marklar

    Marklar gruntled

My experience with Toll has been the same.

I purchased a hardly used sailboard through the seabreeze forums from a guy in Sydney. Plenty of photos ensured it was in mint condition. When I unpacked it it had obviously been treated VERY roughly. There is a crease running across the width of the underside of the board about 60cm from the nose and several dings on the rails which looked like it had been dropped a number of times (and from a decent height too, as it was packed in a padded board bag with extra towels wrapped around it) and jammed in a corner resulting a two neat gouges near the nose. I was furious as the damage had obviosly resulted from their handling, all the splinters from the cracked carbon fibre and kevlar were embedded in the towels. As in your case it was not insured so I had to live with it and repair the board.

I will certainly never use Toll IPEC again.
