    Hey Guys,
As you might know, my girlfriend's mum reversed into my baby a few weeks back.

The insurance claims and everything went through fine but I have had problems with the repair centre (Jonkers Smash Repairs, Morayfield - RACQ Approved).

I got the car back in 8 days. However:
    1) The front bar was fitted incorrectly. There is now a gap between the front bar and the body about 1-2cm long.

    2) The wheel was not repaired. There are still scratches on the wheel.

    3) The car is overheating the three times I have driven it since I got it back. The fan is making a whirring noise when it spins up. When the car is moving between 80-100km/h the temperature needle sites around the middle however, any slower and at a standstill, the temperature needle rises as high as the gauge goes.

    4) There is white crap all over the interior of the car (including the boot) and the engine bay.

I took the car back to Jonkers Smash Repairs the day after I got it back and asked them about the defects with which they replied 'It must have been that way before we got it, there is nothing we can do about it'.

I have lodged a complaint with RACQ and they will be re-assessing it on the 7th of January. If this does not bear any fruit, I plan to first go to the Department of Fair Trading and then intitiate legal proceedings.

However, do you guys have any ideas as to why the car is doing what it's doing? With my limited mechanical knowledge I realise it has probably got something to do with the fan but...

Just to let you know, Jonkers took off the front bar, the rear bar and repainted the whole drivers side of the car (which I assume they also removed).

Thanks for your time guys :)

Yet another dodgy shop to add to the list

Best bet is to stick with the insurers. There is a clause or something Im sure that means it must be fixed to reasonable condition. Keep insisting on it being repaired properly and dont sign off on any work until it is.

    Dried white liquid?

Well I have heard of mechanics getting excited about the zed but this is just going too far, and to not even clean up once they were done??

-Neshy, i would not have excepted the car back

in the condition you have described, slopy work, just pisses me off! Did you sign anything when you picked
the car up? mate get the cooling system looked at right away, the needle at the top off the gage is well over where it should be, Dickheads should not come within 20mts off a zed, for any reason!

This one worries me the most. When I checked your zed out, it was fine on temps... I wonder if they've left a rag or something inbetween the radiator... I'd take off the centre nose panel between headlights and have a look. You're welcome to bring it down to me and I'll check it out free for you.

This is hopefully just from the sanding the filler and polishing the paint... If it comes off in your hands, then that's what it is,,, if not it's paint...

That white crap you are refering all over the interior, is all the dust

from the sanding and stuff, the panel shop should have cleaned it up for you.
