    G'day

Hey mate, I am in Mandurah and if you organise a tech day would be more than willing to come up for some zed work :)
The fuel filter you are looking at is the right one ;).
I use Penrite 10-40 full synthetic with great result ( love the stuff ) but you will find that oil choice is largely a personal thing
sing out if you need any little bits and pieces as I have a fair bit of stuff in the shed  Good to see you got a silver one :zlove: good colour
    Welcome to the insanity :zlove:
    Andy

lol No doubt Stu :D I have a feeling theres going to be plenty more sacrificing to come.. but in all honesty, she's definitely worth it.

Thankyou Michandy. Much appreciated :) I think I will start with that Oil choice and see where I go from there. I'm not too impressed with the colour of the oil, coolant and the air filters so will be looking at doing a home service in the next couple of days while I have time off work.
I'm keen to see what you have in the way of little bits and pieces. I'm noticing a fair few bolts and screws missing from various places and will more than likely be asking for your services when I get all the necessary parts together for a god Tech Day. Let me know if your free between Xmas and New Years and I'll come over and have a chat mate.

Just a quick Thankyou for everyone who's raising there hand and willing to help out. Its putting a smile on my face and I hope in time I can return the favor and help out where ever I can.

One thing I know for sure is that my future Tech Day will not be small and you all might as well bring your families because there will be enough to feed a village.

Found this tech article very useful today

Literally grabbed handfull of leaves, newspaper, a plastic clear wrap about 6 inches long and a heavy duty plastic tie. Pulled the front splash plate off, removed the oil cooler and got the O'le ladies vacuum cleaner out :D
Cleaned it all up and happy to see the fan working :)

about to go for a cruise cos thats what a zed is for  and see if theres any difference in the temp gauge :br::zlove:

    First Love tap

    Very mixed emotions right now:mad::(:confused::)

Traveling into Freo, stopped at traffic lights, out of habit i look at rear view mirror to see whats coming up behind... I watch this drongo getting a little to close for my liking with a look of vague stupidness on his face. His car starts bunny hopping under brakes and gets very close. I let go of my brakes and he he bumps into me. Pull the hand brake up, hazard lights engaged, step out of the car ready to headbutt someone.. :bash:
Luckily, he immediately opologises with his hands up like its a stick up. Said my bit and looked at my bumper expecting the worse but nothing major and only a small indent thats hardly noticeable. Paint although is cracked like a shattered glass... but the offender is a spraypainter by trade ( or so he says ) and offers straight away to fix it all.. So i grab his details and say that I will be incontact. Could of been worse if I didnt let go of my brakes at the last moment.

On a brighter note..lol, 6 litres of Penrite, oil filter, two air filters and $150 later.. I'm ready to change the oil. Not sure if I should use an oil flush with this? ...anyone else use them?

Sorry but also.. I'm looking at giving my dash a shot at fixing it.

Has anyone else tried this?? what 'glue ' did you use? I dont want to use an epoxy that will eat the foam.
I'm also hoping that the sensor on the left hand side is easily to reconnect.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

Yep .. everyone is pointing me in that direction. I've used the stuff before and it can get nasty lol Gloves, masking tape and plenty of newspaper.

would be good if I can find some small enough clamps.

need to do this job fast as I'm sure the dash has risen since I've had her

Thanks for the tip mate :)

Perth...say no more, so many rear endings I see on the road everyday. Waiting for my time of some dick going up my arse (ooer) because they aren't looking/tailgating. Nearly every other day going to or from work up the Guildford road I see one. Normally a soccermum type AWD cutting in and out of traffic trying to get to the next set of lights that 2 secs quicker.

Got my hands on some sikaflex 252 adhesive. all the rest are sealant/adhesives so went for the supposed strongest. Hope I got it right

:agree: ..and after watching dashcams Aust, I'm twice as paranoid now. Even driving around today with everyone in a rush to do last minute shopping, I've never been such a defensive driver in all my life.
So many people in a rush to go nowhere..

Anyone in Perth would like to give me a hand in a dash removal please?

I want to fix the peeling and figure it would be a better option to remove it..fix it and put it back in.

I have read/watched various articles on the procedure but would like some experience at hand

Today I got the fuel smell back :( had a good look and noticed one fuel hose under a dampener moist and the clamp is rusty.. so I'm off to grab some new hose and hopefully find the right clamps to give it a shot at replacing it.

Do I need to purge the fuel first or not really nessacery?

On the plus side today, I've ordered a few things from Carcraze like plenum gasket, O rings, PTU adapter plate etc.. and today in the mail I received the drivers door actuator and also the passenger side cowling.. so looks like a busy day for me ;)

anyone bored and want to give me a hand with a beer or two is welcomed to come around or hit my mobile on Zero four double nine 211 313.

Changed fuel filter, I couple of small hoses and the hoses under the dampners.. I have a headache from the fumes lol.. started car up and she runs like a 350 chev with big cams  not sure what I've done wrong but double checked everything and nothing is out of place. Once she got a little warmer she settled down a bit but still runs not as smooth as before. :bash:

one thing I do notice is if I move the harness that leads from the top of the plenum at the back, she almost wants to stall, investigating it further, it looks like the injector connectors are a little frail, especially number 4. I can almost make it run rough or smoother just by moving the harness a couple of centimeters..

    Anyone have any suggestions please?

normal enough for the harness to be brittle and generally shagged. try unplugging coil packs to see which ones cause a chnage in idle, and which ones dont. that will tell you which cylinders arent firing, then you can look at the connectors (injector and coilpack) and try to isolate the problem.

new connectors or a new harness are recomended, gotta remember everything on the car is 20+ years old.....maybe more....
