    Hi Guys,

Another cruise being organised by the Z car club of NSW, that a few of us are joining.

A leisurely drive around the Mountain for lunch with Zed fanatics, do you need another reason?

    Join this queue of Zeds

    Date: Sunday 23rd April 2023

Address: Twin Servos, Eastern Creek (heading west)

    Time of Start: 8:30am

OVERVIEW: Setting off from the twin service stations at Eastern creek, heading west toward Penrith. Exit at Emu pains and on to the Historic Lennox Bridge at Glenbrook. Re join the great Western Hwy at Glenbrook/Blaxland, then Down Hawkesbury Road through Winmalee and Yarramundi to North Richmond, Freemans Reach to Windsor.

Total trip distance from start to Lunch venue will be approx. 90 klms. Approx.: 2 HRS of driving. Plus stops

8.30 AM MEET AT TWIN SERVOS EASTERN CREEK HEADING WEST. We will Meet in the truck parking area at the western end of the service stations. Basically, around the back and more toward the exit rather than where the Fast food outlets are. There will be plenty of parking here.

9.00 AM DEPART FOR LENNOX BRIDGE GLENBROOK. Follow M4 western motorway over Nepean River bridge at Penrith, stick to the left lane and take the EMU PLAINS turn off turning right at the roundabout onto Russell Street, follow for approx. 4 klm and then turn left into Old Bathurst Road.

Continue on Old Bathurst Rd for approx. 9klms and turn left at the roundabout into Wilson Way.
Turn left at the next roundabout into Mitchell Pass. Lennox bridge is approximately 4 klms down Mitchell Pass Rd.

9.40 AM ARRIVE HISTORIC LENNOX BRIDGE. Parking is limited to around 15-20 cars. If we have more cars than this, we will stop approx. 1klm before the bridge and park some cars there (residential street) and carpool down to the bridge. Collect on the way back up.

10AM LEAVE FOR HAWKESBURY LOOKOUT, HAWKESBURY HEIGHTS. Head up Mitchell Pass, through the roundabout and under viaduct bridge which becomes Layton Ave. Turn right on to the Great Western Hwy at Glenbrook. Continue for approx. 9 Klms
follow signs to Winmalee (we will regroup on the side road just before this turn off so that no one misses it) by turning left into Macquarie Rd heading toward Springwood. Turn right at the roundabout and proceed over the freeway bridge, this becomes Hawkesbury Road.
    Continue through Winmalee.

10.30 AM ARRIVE AT HAWKESBURY LOOKOUT. Parking is available both sides of the road. The lookout has approx. 20 spots and plenty more across the road. I would suggest the more youthful park across the road and leave the main carpark for our senior members as it can be a busy road to cross. Spend Around 20 minutes here.

10.50 AM DEPART LOOKOUT FOR WINDSOR. The next section of road is twisty with a few hairpin bends. Take care on this stretch.
Hawkesbury Rd becomes Springwood Road, and we follow until just after we cross the Nepean River at Yarramundi. At the T section turn left onto Castlereagh Rd.
At Approx 1.5 klms turn left into Crowleys Lane. Then turn right into Yarramundi Lane. Turn left onto Kurrajong Rd. proceed over the Hawkesbury River bridge.
At Approx 1.5 klm after the crossing the bridge turn right into Terrace Rd, Continue along Terrace Rd, turn right into Kurmond Rd, becomes Garrick’s Lane. Turn left into Freemans Reach Rd.

Just before crossing the Windsor Bridge, Turn right at roundabout into Macquarie Park Boathouse Café.

    11.30 ARRIVE FOR LUNCH
A short walk or drive across the bridge is the historic township of Windsor where a market is held in the mall every Sunday.
