sideshift in the steering column can be due to the column being too far down, also indicated by the column shroud being a tight fit.
With the surround off, looking from underneath the dash, there is a V-type clamp on either side of the column. It doesnt tighten completely however. With the car on a hoist, move your attention to the uni-joint at the end of the steering column, where it bolts to the steering rack. Loosen the clamp bolts and slide the column back. Sliding adjustment at both ends of the uni- rack and column, will be ample to have the comumn slide completely into the V-style clamps under the dash. You will still get a few mm of sideshift, but the different will be quite noticeable.

the steerig issue has been rectified, had to make a custom second mount under the dash onto the V clamps mentioned above.

I would love to get my hands on a few things for her purely as a cosmetic thing.
I notice that kristies 300 has adjustible coil overs, any idea how to find out what type they are, at the moment i have a mate adjusting them to allow more height and bounce as the car would currently kill anyone down parramatta road lol

should be able. have a look around, check the manufacter, else maybe look at getting some other springs that are very similar, last ditch effort, places will custom make springs to your spec. (not cheap tho)

Any large coilover producer makes replacement springs. Tien makes them, thru Aust. Distributer Fulcrum suspension in QLD.
King Springs may have something suitable.
Worst case is getting a spring custom made, which is not as expensive as it may seem.

Speak to a suspension specialist about the best solution. They will consider the current spring rate, adjustability, and the valving that is within the coilover (dampening).

Hey guys, just a few more pix.

Kristies hubby "scotty" has become very talented with a spray gun, especially since prior to the respray he had never sprayed a car or a car pannel for that matter.

almost there guys, have her sitting in the garage fully working and just had to redo some wiring on the front foggies, now i find that we have no reverse lights, the globes are fine but yea, any help or advice here would be a great help.

just to see how she went we sat her in the driveway today and let her idle for 4 hours while working on the lights. temp gague sat halfway, all other things are fine apart from the reverse lights not working and the left indicator on the instrument pannel clapping out today when testing the hazards.

drivers side indicators were blinking extremely fast, however all globes operate. (got me stuffed)

kristie is looking at getting her blue slipped this week sometime and we are planning to join all of the nsw guys in feb on the 20th for that cruise to kiama
