Anyone know any Mechanics in this area? I'm just after a workshop that I can give the oil, filter and stuff to so I can get the stuff done, as most of my stuff is still up the coast prior to me moving down. OTHER from that is there anyone that can lend me ramps or the sort to do this on my own car? Seems the only thing I did bring down is the actual liquids, filters etc not the gear that I need to do it.... as space was limited and so was time so I'm at the mercy of my parents when they come to visit to bring some of my stuff down (not to mention my uncle flogged my ramps and has claimed them as his own in Sydney)
Ok found one.... but he wants $80 just to do it even though I'm bringing all my own fluids and filter... sound about right? Also that is for cash.... seems a bit high as I've seen how fast it is with a hoist to do this stuff. Or even other right tools.
Doing Engine oil with filter (got both) also gearbox fluid and dif (got both of those also) so yeah I guess so
Strange...... you can't do it yourself because you don't have the tools or equipment available, yet query the cost to have someone, that has outlaid capital on tools & equipment, to do it for you. To service your vehicle, the mechanic has overheads to cover, for example, workshop, lighting, hoist, spanner, filter wrench, oil catch tray & stand, in addition to disposal of waste oil & filters then you can add on labour.
There is no way I'm going to folk out for stands, / ramps, jack, oil catch tray and the rest (which is well over $80) when I have them already. All good anyways got someone to do it for less so all good, like I said I already have all the tools just not with me right now.
Sorry Vaughan i was working & i did get your msg...ive got some ramps & a low profile jack & stands & basic tool box your more than welcome to borrow. However the jack & stands are currently at my friends place as he is cleaning up his wheels, so if you let me know how soon you need it, i can check with him & see if he will be done. If you need any other stuff let me know & if i have it, your more than welcome to borrow it Abraham
