Hi i am about to purchase egt gauges and need to know whats the max safe temperature at full throttle in 4th and 5th. I have ball bearing t28s and will be mounting the probes probably just after the 02 sensor. I need to choose between a 1600f (870C) or 2000f (1093C) gauge. I'd prefer the lower 870c gauge as it will be easier to read, but obviously if normal operating temps is above that than it's not much use. Can any one that's mounted their probes at a similar position let me know what temperatures they are getting? Cheers Pat
Stock turbos shouldnt really be pushed above 750 degrees IMO aftermarket can go higher as much as 900 degrees on the trust turbos but around 800 is optimum I think J
