Hey Guys I recently purchased a manual conversion kit and single piece drive shaft and re-surfaced fly wheel to replace my slow auto.

My question is does anyone know any places where I can get it fitted ?

I live in the Bayside area of Melbourne. If anyone knows any places interested in touching a Z and doing it please let me know!

Ocean Blue Auto in Keysborough offered to do it, but was way too pricey.

I'd even be willing to get a forum member to do it with included $$

    :D

What sort of quotes did you get..?
Auto -> Manual conversion is a little bit more than plug+play.

I will do it! For $$$ but I haven't got a garage so that will be the only downside with me.... But it's a piss easy job! Bit of fiddling and swearing but straight forward mechanics.

I would never pay someone else for job like that or anything mechanical mainly due to just time involved to do simple jobs, but it's a hobby so it enjoyable for me :)

I'm getting a reco auto in a couple of months to replace my slow one.

Dontex Automotive will do it, but It isn't cheap. I was going to get it done there but after getting a quote I'm doing it myself.

James you can try Cam but he is a bit "fruity" so i would be worried lol :p jkz

There is also Wildzx (Noel) but he is always busy with work & projects so maybe contact him & see if he has time & I'm sure he can do a good price for you.

I will do the job with Noel. I am pretty sure I could pull the job off myself, but it would be good just to do it with someone so I have no doubt.

I will also replace my detonation sensor while the transmission is out of the way. Can't wait to get the manual in.

You know, if you had the money and time I would pull the motor out along with the transmission. This way you can clean your bay up, give the motor a good clean, check condition of welsh plugs, check all gaskets, pull sump off ect ect ect.... And replace as needed. This way you will nip anything in the but that is bound to happen sooner or later.

Of not I would recommend replacing your rear main seal whilst your transmission is off!
