manual conversion

    i am doing a manual conversion on my 89tt, i have noticed a few people have made a stiffener/backing plate to go on the firewall, between the clutch booster and the master cylinder, can anyone tell me if this is necessary

    It's not necessary either. LOL

    But it is necessary to leave it in gear when you park :p

    Do not however leave it in gear if you have remote engine start and the handbrake only half on

    Doing this might result in a broken finger nail running after the car and trying to open it in a thankfully empty car park

    It was actually quite hilarious, even the fact that he got in and stopped it about an inch before a concrete pillar
