hello guys, how are you? i just got back from a unpleasant drive. I just got my brake and new set of tyres done this week, and the car feel so good, so i said to myself why dont u just go for a drive with open top at this pleasant evening. on the way back home, passed northbridge and then had the booze bus on the horse shoe bridge, so the close the two lins on the bridge, this f??king idiot was next to me but he wanted to get from of me, so l let him passed and the get off the bridge, i changed to the right line which was reopened, so i was next to him again. i was stop at the taffice light at willam ST, the next thing is the big bang, the idiot hit me from back.:mad::mad:

no visual damage had been made, not even a scratch, thank god for that:bow2:, but his front bumper was not that lucky with a big "smile".

so now im thinking is the Zed really that strong? could there be any hidden damage? any ideas?

there has got to be damage mate, the rear bar is fairly flexible and has polystyrene stuff behind it which can absorb impact from a low speed but id be getting it checked out properly

my mum had the same thing in her statesman... take out the boot carpet and the spare wheel, and check to make sure the is no new hump in the metal underneath it. (she didnt notice until she put something in the boot and it slid to the side)

    red32 You talkin' to me?

The rear bar is urethane (assuming it's still original) and will return to its original shape after a prang. Almost the only way to check for damage is to remove it and inspect the metal structure underneath.
(Personal experience... hit by a tow-bar in the rear quarter - no apparent superficial damage except to the paint, but the box-frame underneath was bent out of shape! Looked like a $10 patch-up, but turned out to be nearly $3,000 worth. Was incredibly difficult to convince the perp that I was not having a lend of them (or their insurance Co))
Insurance Co and panel beater need to be involved!

gotta say, zeds are suprisingly tough when it comes to a few light knocks here and there.

Yeah, my car has been the victim of 2 hit n runs in carparks *sigh*..

Surprisingly the zed held up pretty well, only damage was just paint stress cracks. Both times i found glass scattered around where they hit me :)

Still upsetting to find, but luckily its not that as bad as it could be..
