Hi, i am looking for insurance for a 300zx TT 5spd manual 2+2 Seater. Import.

It will be insured in my dads name
He is 64yrs old. Rating 1, been driving for like 30+ years.
    No claims!

By the way the car is Stock Standard Twin Turbo. No mods. Can anyone tell me of an insurer who will insure the car.

    Thanks

I recently did the insurance route ...

I'm in a similar situation to you and your dad, Age 42, rating 1 etc. Stock TT 2+2 grey import
I have a quote from Torque Lumley for $680PA with $1000 excess. This is the cheapest I've been able to find anywhere but it excludes 25yo and younger drivers and requires that a 3point immobiliser such as a Brant system be installed (about $250-300)... does the age issue eliminate you?If you want more info, let me know ...:-Z

    I am an Underager

Yea the age does eliminate me.
    Firstly i am 21yrs old.
I will be getting my full licence in March 2005.
So technically i am not even allowed to drive a TT.Any advice apart from "dont buy the car now".
I just can't wait any longer. I have grown impatient waiting for this car.

Some insurers will still cover you but you

will have an "age" excess, try the following but I'd suggest you get your father to call !!!* Torque Lumley (speak to Mark on 1300 369769 and * Just cars: 13 13 26* Russel Green from Coathup Assoc 3878 1844 * Vigil (OAMPS)- 1 300 134 054 * Shannons 1493253

    be advised.....

I know you dont want to hear this, but as you know its illegal to drive a TT in Vic while on your p's, regardless who it is insured under. Ask Method about this as he has recently had troubles with the law and his TT while on P plates.

    You wouldnt be covered

If you were driving a car that you arent legally meant to be driving, I wouldnt like your chances of actually getting a claim accepted if need be. The ins company would just reject the claim and you will be out of pocket for damages to your car and any others involved if you are at fault.Suggestion either wait until you are off your P's or buy a non turbo.Third party ins would also be the same I beleive.RegardsMark
