does anyone know or recommend any insurance companies that do insurance on cars that you are not using?I finally got around to getting a road worthy for my car this week and was going to list it in the weekends paper and the trading post - but had second thoughts at the last minute... =) So now I am thinking that I should keep the car - but I just can't affort to run it. So thought I would just put it down the side of the house and put it to sleep for a year until I finish university.I was then thinking that I could have no insurance at all... but thought that maybe I should have some insurance... and am hoping that places will do a cheaper insurance for me.Currently I am with Suncorp-Metway who charge me $1700 for a full comprehensive insurance. I rang them and they can't do anything for me.Rang Touque - they said they had a "Storage and Resoration" policy - but they won't offer it to me as I am not over 30... (I am 27 btw)Anyway so need ideas as to what to do... I mean should i just not bother insuring it... take out the battery or something - and just put the cover over it..ideas welcomed!!!thanksjeff

    That gets my vote......>>

Shannons have a "laid up" policy that is for cars being stored if Chewy's idea doesn't work.

Try these guys, I dont know if they are any good, but they were recommended to me by Budget Direct when inquiring about insurance. I havent had a response back from them yet, so can't say if they will be able to help you.http://www.insureu.com.aucheersPete
