A different tactical approach this time. Less Stealth more Incognito. ;)

1990 2+2 Gunmetal Grey Twin Turbo Targa Top Manual

    -Fully Rebuilt engine at 151,xxxkms.
-Engine balancing done while apart for the rebuild.
-New Hypergear Turbos (T25 with GT28RS Internals)
    -GFB underdrive crank pulley
-New KYB Shocks all round, lowered, with camber correction kit.
    -GFB Dual BOVS
-Brand new Exeady heavy duty clutch
    -Gizzmo Electronic boost controller
    -Apexi AFC
-3x center console mounted gauges, water temp, boost, and oil pressure.
-Full turbo back exhaust, inc dumps, UAS center muffler with 200cpi high flow cats.
    -Japtek Massive Side mount intercoolers
    -Fat 52mm sports radiator
-Npower dumps (which are arguably restrictive).

    -17" rims, 255's back 235's front.

Boost set to 13psi and kicks in at 4k revs...like flicking a switch.
Its pushing 300+rwhp on the dyno.

    Started work on it today.

Engine bay shot. I have the other missing hoses but the owner was having boost leaks with them so he started removing them. I plan on putting them back on and doing them up properly and doing a DIY boost leak test.

    Pod with the BOVS
    [IMG]

Rear Wiper delete and used a circle of trusty vinyl (very water proof and resilient). Will replace with a grommet or some eventually.

Found a pack of condoms in the glovebox from previous owner (he didnt get a chance to clean the car before i took it). hahaha:rofl::rofl: I actually texted him and told him about it. He laughed...awkwardly.:rofl:

Sprayed the redundant j spec indicators....because i hate orange with a passion. Thanks to previous owner for sun visor lols.

What the hell is this? Possibly the cable for ECU talk?

Also smoked out the rear reflectors (yea shoot me).

So after 2 days of driving it around my thoughts are....

The Hypergears are awesome! Boost comes on very sudden and strong giving a real kick.
Boosting while turning of any kind is BAD news.
    300rwhp is......fast!

Thats about it for today, got lots more little things i need to do to it to bring it back up to scratch. Interior plastics, dying the cloth, putting all the turbo times and gauges, boost controllers....somewhere permanent.

Some more vinyl work too, not saying where ;)

    Until next time...
    Matt.

No idea about ECU Talk but it is roughly the same as a ConZult Tuner version and Datascan cable. I dunno if you have those but sometime... I can scan it for you if need be. Looking good I'll start keeping my phone on me, seeing as I could have seen this today and Fate is angry for the same reason.:eek:

If you want a better boost controller you cant go past the Turbosmart E-Boost Street. IMO the best there is.

BTW if theres another nistune gb i might as well go for it.

Bit rough around the edges but it's a good base to fix up, and I'm sure we are going to have plenty of fun and frustration fixing things ;)

Boost/Oil/Water Temp gauges & Centre Surround

This is the old centre surround i took it, it had pics of plastic cut out to fill gaps and hotglue holding shit in...not pretty at all.

So i got a new black centre and started making up mounts for the head unit and gauge plate. Took me a good 4 hours, always running into small problems or making things fit. In the end it came out perfect and i love it.

Yes i have 3 Boost Gauges and yes they all work. Turbo timer down low too.

Took a few more pics while i was out. I was using an iphone 3gs for the stealth zed build. This time i have a better camera....an iphone 4!!!!!!!!:rofl::p

Now where to hide the ballasts? I still havnt done it so anyone got ideas?

    hawttttt.

im loving this zed, its so raw and brutal. unrefined and off the rails when boosting :zlove::zlove:

Still got heaps more to do, just trying to knock the small stuff over first. :)

Looking good. ballasts go under the headlights from memory, I think mine are just above the top of the intercoolers, with the wires runing up right beside the headlights into the engine bay.

  16. Anti

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

mine are right in the bay, and look terrible! i gotta put them under the headlights. will do it when I have the front off.

  17. 300ZXC

    300ZXC #TEAMROB

I've put mine under the nose panel. They fit pretty well. Just make sure you mount the ballasts so that water can't pool anywhere it shouldn't ;)

Interesting, ill have a look under there tomorrow.

They are in a semi permanent spot on the wall side of the guards...semi hidden but meh.

    are they the slimline ones?

Slimline - on the inside of the headlight frame (should be a gap to fit).
normal - under headlight/ make ure own bracket to fit under nose panel.

let me know if u need pics, i have both slimlines and normal.

meh doesnt really matter where they are man..my left one is mounted to my intake t section under the nose panel and my other one is just chilling in amongst my intercooler pipes on the right hand side...i'd say anything is good as long as it doesnt move....beast looking ride btw :)
