Im in the market for a different car right now. I originally had a 2 seater NA Manual, but got sick and tired of repairs, which included Heater core, slave cylinder, master cylinder, 100k service, drive shaft bearing, starter motor and a few other bits. Im now in the market for something a bit more reliable. Im on a budget, but in Japan, so I have a few options. Just thought id ask you guys you opinions. I know the final choice is up to me and I should get what I like, but a few extra opinions would be appreciated. For my budget, i can afford to get some models with fruit (to a varying degree) At the moment Its a toss up between the following Lancer Evo 5 GSR - fairly stock Lancer Evo 6 Tommy Makinnen -stock RX7 - Sexy, but reliability?!? - quite a bit of fruit Evo 3 GSR - quite a bit of fruit S15 J-spec - A bit of fruit Any suggestions other than this?
if i was u iw would get the S15 looks awesome. any pics of the engine bay??? or the EVO 6 awesome car even when stock I luv FD3s RX7's but ive been told their gearboxs arn't up to the task
I thought anything with a rotary was a pain in the ass... especially if you get a second hand rotary, if not treated right from the start it could be 10 times worse than a zed, its hard enough getting some one that knows how to work on a zed to finding some who can work on a rx7....Do love that shape tho. S15 for me too..
Re: Late model TTZ if I were you, but of those posted - S15 hands down! id personally go with the rx7 or s15.. id prob take the one with biggest power figure of the 2.. my 2 cents.
Of those pictured, a stock makinen Evo 6 would put the biggest smile on my dial. I love the look of the RX7, pity about it being a rotary. S15 would be second choice.
If you don't want a Z... Personally I'd reccomend the Mitsubishi GTO. A V6 Twin Turbo car that looks like a race car and handles really well. Its good, but its no Z!:zlove:
agree, GTO is the way to go  I think they are AWD as well. As far as the EVO goes, they are ugly, I don't know about most others but I can't drive an ugly car even if it ran a 10. If i wanted a fast car I would have passed on the Z and bought a VL turbo, spent $10k and ran 11's EVO = ugly Rx7 = hot as!! but expect rebuilds every 50,000ks or something stupid I have been told especially if it is worked. S15 = nice car but only really have guts when you spend a lot of mula on them. I would go GTO RX7 S15 then EVO
i'll take s15 Are you kidding? There are like at least half a dozen big name rotary work shops in each state. Sure most of the rotaries in australia are from s4/5 rx7 engines being fitted in old mazdas, but there are still plenty of s6 rx7/cosmo 20bs being modified. Australia LOVE rotary engines. As for those guys who like the gto, if you ever bitched about the zed's engine bay then have fun with the gto one. Gearbox is weak as well. S15 is cheapest, good looking, and quick so i'd take that. Bolt on mods easily see 200rwkw, given the weight thats an easy 13sec car, 12 with traction. But then again the same can be achieved easily with a zed. At least it's a new car with no problems (apart from gearbox they dont like too much power).
Low Maintenance car For total reliability and low maintenance... a Toyota Camry. But BLAND...BLAND...BLAHH...YUK. And buy a bowling hat to go with it. NO..No..Spend the kids inheritance and get an RX8...nothing wrong with the latest rotary engines. Duey
GTOs are 1700kg...a boulevard cruiser. Mad looking car tho, lowish and wide. Maintenance costs are prohibitively expensive, not many mechanics can handle them. The NA alternative may be a cheaper option as opposed to the the TT.
R34 I think when my Zed eventually has had it, the R34 seems the logical next step. But how do you adjust to THAT styling once you have had a Z32? Hell, how do you adjust to any other car once you have had a Zed? The skylines and silvias look so bland in comparison.
