I have been told tonight that there is opportunity for someone to purchase Hotlaps in the DriftZ this Friday at Oran Park. Only 2 spots available.

This hasnt been made available before and would be an incredible experience, more horsepower than a V8 Supercar Sideways

The deal is 11 am this Friday 19th (you would need to be there by 10 for paperwork ect prior to ride)

3 laps out in the car, 1 fast warm up and 2 full on.
You also get an Entry ticket for full weekend of DA action, Shirt and signed poster.
    Cost $350
You need to be over 18yo, healthy, no back or neck problems and not pregnant.

If you are interested call Sureflo on 02 98293158 and ask for Greg.

    First in best dressed!

different experience, and the supercars are not exclusive at all.

If no one puts up their hand then Caz will know the price is too high, so theres really no need for anyone to give their opinion on price

Price hasn't been decided by me, I am merely the messenger. I was told this was happenning and thought a Zedder might like the chance so posted it here.
1 ride was donated for auction 2 weeks ago and it went for $800.00, no weekend ticket with that one either.

I know it wont be for everyone :)

In the V8's they are only "look a likes" or second stringers - privateers that are coming towards the back end of the Fujitsu Field.

The tyres on the V8 supercars last for several outings, whereas on a Drift Car 4 to 6 half laps and they are bald. So in 10 minutes (at full pace), $500 worth of tyres are shredded.

Insurance is also expensive with Drifting.

Thrills, well V8 supercars is fast, but after the first lap, the thrill is gone and you feel safe as houses taking the clean line around the track.

Doing 160km/h - 180km/h down the straight and then pointing the car at pit wall, and then flicking it sideways in the other direction to take the corner, is a bit more of a thrill, than just braking and taking the clean line.

Then the cabin starts to fill with tyre smoke and bits of rubber start flying everywhere, it just gives a totally different feeling.

It looks like they are "scaredy cats" on here as well !!!
If you just want the ride instead of the package it is $300

Drift Australia never hires the track the day before, so when we travel interstate, quite often we can't get onto the track before hand.

Oran Park have put this day on themselves and paid the insurance for passenger rides, to be split up between everyone taking up the opportunity.

This is the first time this opportunity has arisen, and unfortunately, Oran Park is closing at the end of the year, so it may never happen again.

Most tracks do not allow drifting with passengers.
We were at Eastern Creek and Hankook hired the whole track for passenger rides. We could take passengers, but were not allowed to drift.

    Cheers

    Excellent oportunity

Insurance and beauracracy are spoilers of most auto sports , look at drag racing (any levell) you dont even steer , but no passengers allowed ? and the opposite is true for the rally guy's ,flat out on a slippery surface amongst the tree's ?. I went for a passenger ride in titan garages two seater sprint car at archerfield speedway , wow that was a hoot! So great to see oran park and more importantly thunder making this possible , unfortunately for me i don't live near oran park .
