parker Been around for a bit

I read about the HICAS light coming on after 15 or so minutes of driving and how it was related to the boss kit on the steering wheel. Thats all well and good but how do I go about fixing my boss kit to stop the light from coming on???? CheersParker

    re:

the hicas system feeds from the main resiviour(i cant spell) when this senses a low signal, your light comes on, this is only one reason but the simplest. i'll check my notes and get back to you with the other symptoms. these are electrical probs. what does this light have to do with the steering wheel boss?

Apparently there is a pin sensor in the boss

which i heard if it is not in correct line causes the light to come on, im sure someone will know in alot more detail

    Blipman Beer hooves totally work

    It's pretty easy

the HICAS 'sensor' on the steering column is just a piece of plastic that sticks out, the steering wheel goes over this piece so that when you turn the wheel it moves with it.For an aftermarket steering wheel to be compatible with HICAS it simply needs to have a hole for this piece of plastic so that when the wheel and boss are turned it moves the HICAS sensor and HICAS knows where the steering wheel is aimed. When the wheels are pointing straight, the sensor MUST be at the bottom. If this is not the case (it's out by about 15 degrees on some boss kits) the car will over time get confused that you are (as far as the HICAS sensor is concerned) constantly turning 15 degrees to the right or left most of the time, and will trigger the light as it thinks something is wrong.Ben
