*Mods feel free to move if you feel this is in the wrong spot* Just got defected by the Police 100m away from home. Now the police are never on my street and it deep in suburbs to, not a main road, but tonight they were conveniently there. Anyways I have 5 weeks to fix the car which i am not too concerened about as it will take alot of weight off of my shoulders and i wont be watching my back for police as it will all be legal. Now to my problem i need parts... These were my defects: -non ADR compliant steering wheel -BOV not piped back into system -Hub extenders front and rear on wheels -exhaust been modified reducing effiency (2 mufflers not 4) -Bonnet does not comply ADR reinforcing. Now they are the police exact words on my defect. Also i wanna find a set of 18" rims that wont need spacers so any pics would be great (preferably race look not so much bling) The main thing that is pissing me off is the steering wheel that was on the car when i bought it was practically the same and the hubs spacers were on it aswell which were all checked for road worthy cert. now the cop recons its shouldnt of passed with those things.

You cant get defected for an exhaust losing efficiency that sounds like a long one to me. As long as the exhaust is under the legal DB limit and you have cats fitted to pass emissions you are sweet. Mufflers only do just that muffle the noise silly cops Overall it doesnt sound that bad though and you didnt get pinged for too low or similar so should be a painless fix well almost
yer like i said the wheels are the only thing bugging me the most i will be actually happy to have a legal car after this..
There is those quite cheap rims going in the FSBB section from UAS 1k a set with offsets to suit the Z and staggered too I believe.
petes the man, dw happened to me not so long ago as well. funny thing is they guvna knew more about 'my kind' then the car. he was nice enough to only give me a warning and send me on my way, though i fixed a few things to make sure next time i am not pulled over. BOVs - you must have let them know you had them because they sure as hell didnt know where mine were... they heard them so thats how i got pulled over. i have stockies now, love the goose honk sounds mad. I hate aftermarket steering wheels with a passion, i have never seen a boss kit that blends in, ruins it for me... I am guessing you have an aftermarket bonnet? otherwise :bash: wtf?? The only thing left on my car illegal is the spacers, front ones are bolted so i recall hearing they were legal - but that doesnt mean they are safe - or cool. dude, pop along to an exhaust shop and get a noise test done. I know Midas mufflers at woodridge have one. Is it a self fix notice, or do you have to go over the pits? ZX2NV is correct in so far as , if you have Cats and you are below noise, you can't be touched.
What did you do to your bonnet? I remember reading somewhere that you aren't supposed to modify your exhaust to reduce effeciancy as they have noted. I'm not sure how it goes with that rule and the ADR's that state an actually DB level.
I think there was some new legislation recently that stated it was illegal to modify an exhaust in such a fashion to reduce efficiency even if it is still under the db limit. They are making it harder and harder. Id liek to see the exact legislation though
just to ad some more detail, there were 3 cops in the car that grabbed me then they proceeded to call a police mechanic to come out so i actually had 2 cop cars and 4 cops all around my one little ZX.
With this shit going on its making me re think my plans. I think I should revert back to stock. update... i have found all the parts i need i have found new wheels, stock steering wheel, stock recircs, stock muffler. the only downside is the bonnet i am gettin is blck but i am actually looking at that as an upper cos i was thinkin i might go for the black top (panda) look does anyone have any picture of black top Z's?
I don't care what its made of, I'm goin black, stock bonnet and all I wonder if you can get the bonnet done somewhere where they can put that carbon film coat over it Fake and gay but no-one needs to know and its not a bad look
