    Hey Guys,
Been noticing that my zed has been gradually losing power, though it was plugs, changed them, resulted in slight increase in power. Then though it could be air filter, checked and cleaned pod filter.
Now zed is running really rough, at idle and even when driving, seems to be missing and when you put your foot down, car does not seem to boost and launch like it use to, it just holds back, misses a bit then takes off with less vigor than before...... Could this be begining signs of PTU failure, car seems to start ok though.
Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated.
    Cheers Jay :(

    Have you.......>>

Checked for a boost leak? Checked the condition of the electrical connections in the engine bay? Checked the condition of your O2 sensors? While it is possible that your PTU might be on the way out it could also be a number of things. Time to do a bit of fault finding.

    sounds like problems i'm having

My car's at nissan at the moment, they reckon PTU but are going to get a test one to confirm if mine is faulty.
It may also be wiring connections ie into the PTU or CAS or worse, injector plugs. If you have corrosion your injector/s will not pluse properly and will miss intermittently.I would get some contact cleaner and do the ptu and cas, if no improvement get your ptu tested (nissan can do it), if that fails try your injector plugs but getting to them will be v hard (at least for me)If you need a new PTU:

When the same was happening to me my

fuel pump was screwed, and ready to die, not forcing enough fuel. It felt like my car was stuk in first gear when i tried to boot it, got a new fuel pump after days and days of figuring out what the hell was wrong. The PTU was fine, and with the new pump the cars back to its good old self. One thing to look out for is a noisy pump, mine was dodgy since i got the car

    Sounds familiar..

I recently did an engine conversion in my zed, when i first put it in it was missing like a demon... I checked everything PTU, Injector connections, fuel pump, replaced all the spark plugs with platinums, checked all the coil packs etc etc.. Still the same problem. So i decided to pull all my injectors out and get them cleaned (which is a pain in the rear end) i got a mobile injector cleaner to come around, he cleaned all of my injectors in an ultrasonic bay and showed me the difference in flow before and after (it was amazing) he charged $200 for 12 injectors (i had the ones cleaned of my old motor too for spares)put it all back togethor started first time and purred like a baby. Dont know if it helps but im glad i had my injectors cleaned.

This just happened to my mates car, same sym

ptoms, it was the connector 'larger one' on the PTU, cleaned it and all the problems went away. Also tried swapping over the PTU and it did the same thing, so im confident it was the connector. Every time you moved the wires at teh end of the connector it would drop the idle, misfire etc.
