i drove over a pot hole last night, and all of a sudden my wiper came on:wacko:...i tried to turn it off, but the switch was already off, then after turning it on and off, it finally turned off, but a lil while later it started again...i got home turned her off and started her up again, and the wiper was behaving... however this morning when i started her up, the wiper started had a mind of its own again! hellllllllppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp:thumbsdown:
had the exact same problem all i can think of is it is rain related, cause mine only did it when it had been sitting outside in the rain. caused a short somewhere. i just pulled the fuse out, put it in a garage over night and it was fine in the morning. other than that i can't really help you. good luck p.s. if you figure out what it is, could you let me know cheers
really... hmmmm, oh thats sooooo annoying, lol even worse its embarrasing when chicks are around! hehe well thanx for the reply bro and i will let you know if i come up with anything:thumbsup:
yeah i had that problem. my sort term fix was to disable the wipers. disconnect the plug from the switch in the binnicle. no wipers when it rains unless you plug it back in but you'll have no control of the wipers. the problem was a buggered control/timing box? i'm not sure what it's called but it's located under the bonnet near the driver side fuse box. from memory, it's a ciggy box size looking thing. i'll try to post pics when i get home.
sweetttt!!! that would be great so if we replace that fuse thing you gonna post a pic for, it will be fixed???
yep .. chick poo on your windscreen is a problem with no wipers to remove it ...!!!!!:LOL::thumbsup::wacko::wacko:
You should put that stuff on your windscreen, ( i forgot what its called) but it disperses the water without using the wipers.
yeah i as thinkin bout buying the water dispersant as well but the problem is that the wipers come on whenever they want to...started yesterday, when it wzn't raining:wacko:
yeah i put that stuff on all my windows...great stuff except it doesn't fix this  problem with my  wipers and their:wacko: minds
Re: sweetttt!!! that would be great well i can't guarantee it will fix the problem cos apparently, my wiper wiring is different to what's on the manual. the little box thingy is called a wiper amplifer (page EL-88 in manual) and once replaced, it operated as expected .. off when off at the switch and vice versa my camera is out of battery so here's a pic i've prepared earlier it's a ciggy box size and about 4 inches below the bonnet where the red arrow is pointing. also, do you hear a loud clicking noise from that area everytime the wipers chucks a fit?
hey james (cookie) and dink... well dink, thanx heaps for your advice with the wiper amplifier, i'll have to get that checked out...but for the moment i juz disconnected the plug that goes to the wiper, and cleaned it out a bit and plugged her bak in and now shes workin fine:thumbsup: so you might wanna give that a go james... if it plays up then i will go one step further and take dinks advice and get that sorted out... btw dink, where do u live? i live in glenwood mate (noticed u got ur dyno done at UAS which isn't all that far from my place)
Re: hey james (cookie) and dink... dink lives in qld, brisbane southside ... quite a few kms north from uas
